Winter QA and Popolo Release Date | Posted at 10:21 PM 05 February 2016
It's the time of year when Natsume opens up and responds to questions presented by the general gaming public. The Winter Q&A is accepting questions to be presented to President Hiro, Community Manager Ceecee, the "Boss Man," Localizer Adam, or just a general question to nobody specific. They will not be answering questions regarding games that they have not already announced yet, but pretty much anything else is open. You can post your question by responding to the Q&A Facebook post, anonymously on Ceecee's Tumblr Account, or post it directly to their Twitter account. Natsume has also launched an Instagram page where they'll be posting pictures and whatnot. Personally, I get confungled with all these different media platforms kids are using now a days :) Perhaps soon there'll be a Tinder for Chickens. "Oh kawk-a-doodle-doo... check out the eggs in that hen's nest! Swipe right!" XSeed Games announced this week that Return to PopoloCrois: A Story of Seasons Fairytale will be released in North America on March 1st. The game will be available in retail stores and on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. Download-wise it is going to be large, as it includes an English voice dub as well as both Japanese voice options. The JP version is almost 9,000 blocks in size, and with an additional English track in the NA version to make the download even larger, you'll want to double-check the free space on your SD card to ensure you've space for it. The price for the game will be $39.99 (USD). In the latest entry to the PopoloCrois localization blog, Popolo Tom from XSeed explains how they have made a few enhanced changes from the Japanese version of the game. Instead of the quick-save option that allowed you to save anywhere but would be deleted once you loaded the quick save, the English version's quick save will function like a regular save you would make at a town's inn. Now you'll be able to save by talking to an innkeeper or from the Data menu's quick-save option. The JP game's quick save was kind of cruel at times. If you loaded a quick save and then exited out of the game, thinking that you could just go back to the quick save and load again, your save spot was deleted upon quick save load, and instead you'd load back at the inn you last saved at. All your progress from the inn save to the quick save would be gone. XSeed's change to the quick-save function is definitely an improvement. XSeed also released a new English trailer for the game, which includes sound tracks from the English voice actors: Another addition to the English release of Return to PopoloCrois is the ability to skip spell animations during battles. Simply press the A button while your party members are casting to skip the little cut scene that plays. Generally, I didn't find the spells to be annoying enough to need a skip feature, but I could see the benefit of being able to skip some of the boss battle spells. The official English website is also live and can be found at http://www.returntopopolocrois.com. Since the game's release doesn't have a pre-order bonus, XSeed opted to release the first story arc from the original 1978 Popolocrois manga for everyone to read! New sections of the story will be added to the official English website on Tuesdays, up until the game's launch date on March 1st. Popolo Tom explains a lot of additional features from the game on the localization blog. You can read more about it on XSeed's Tumblr page: As of news from Japan, Marvelous is still promoting bits and pieces of Story of Seasons: Precious Friends of the 3 Hometowns, but so far it is the same information that we already know. You can see some new screen shots of Lishette and Wayne on the official Bokumono Twitter feed. Until next time! - Cher (I think I need a maid. Spring cleaning cuts into my precious limited farming time...)
