Feeling for Grandchild

Walk into the shop and you'll overhear Hana tell Kosaburo that the child is coming today and not to say anything. Kosaburo replies back that the kid is always so troublesome. The letter he sent says that his friend is sick and so he needs money, but Kosaburo thinks that's suspicious. He believes the sick friend is a lie, and the kid is always taking advantage of Hana's kindness in order to get money from her. This time he won't be silent about it! Hana explains that she'll do as she pleases when it comes to money.
Their grandson arrives at the shop and asks her for the money. Kosaburo is clearly annoyed with his financial request, but Hana tries to get her grandchild's attention by asking how his friend is doing. His friend needs an operation immediately but he doesn't have the money to pay for it; so he wants to do something for his friend. Kosaburo still doesn't believe the story, although Hana feels that her grandchild is clearly distressed about it. The grandchild gets nervous but claims he is very upset about it. Hana reassures her grandchild and tells him that he's kind to his friend. She hands over the money to her agitated grandchild, who thanks her for helping him, and instructs him to hurry and give it to his friend.
As her grandson leaves, you can clearly tell that he's glad to have his new funds. Kosaburo loudly objects to her giving over all of the money she's saved from her shop. You and her grandson overhear Hana reply that she was saving the money to be used for something fun, but asks if what she did wasn't a good thing? An old person like her has the money and it makes her happy to please her grandchild. Kosaburo is still convinced that it was a lie but Hana insists that her grandchild doesn't lie. Even if it was a lie, she's glad to help her grandchild.
Her grandchild ponders for a moment, has a change of heart, and then runs back to his grandmother to return the money he was given. He admits that it was all a lie! Hana accepts his apology but tells him the money is his as thanks for him being honorable. Even Kosaburo is glad to see the money being used like this. Their grandson thanks them both.
