The Beginning

As you wander down the snowy mountain path, you see a shadowy figure in the distance and hear a voice call out to you. The voice tells you to take shelter inside the nearby house, where you find a bed waiting for you. During the night you have a strange dream about a blue-haired woman, who asks you to help her find her bracelet.

In the morning, you step outside and being to explore the area you've found yourself in. You hear a voice coming from a mound of dirt! The voice explains that he's been buried in snow for a long time, and instructs you how to dig up the ground to free him. Once he is free, the yellow-jumpsuit oddball explains that his name is Rowan. You tell him about the dream you had that night, and he explains that the woman was the Harvest Goddess. She has lost her powers to protect the valley, so the area is stuck in a forever winter. Rowan had found the goddess' bracelet, but then became trapped in the hill on his way to give it to her. He's going to head in that direction now and invites you to follow him.

The Harvest Goddess' Spring is waaaaay up on top of the mountain. Rowan instructs you on how to use your tools to build path so you can reach the top of the mountain cliffs. You'll need to activate Cultivating Mode (Y Button) and then use the Fill command (X Button) to place the Soil that Rowan gave to you. Build a set of pyramid steps by laying down enough Soil for you to stand on, then build another row of Soil on top. Eventually you'll be high enough to walk up the mountain.

Walk through the mountain until you reach the top, where you'll find a waterfall. Go underneath the waterfall to locate the Harvest Goddess' Spring.

At the shrine, Rowan calls out to the goddess, but she doesn't appear. He figures that she is too weak to make an appearance. The sprite gets an idea, and asks you to help revitalize the valley below. If you can grow crops, raise animals, and entice people to visit, then the Harvest Goddess' strength should return! In the meantime, Rowan gives you the Harvest Goddess' Bracelet.

On around Spring 8, you'll have a dream of a sprite, who wishes for you to plant and grow lots of flowers. Sam gave you some Pink Pansy Seeds when you first met him, or if you need more, you will unlock the flower shop vendor, Iris, and her daughter April, soon after you see the dream. Iris sells Pink Pansy Seeds for 60 G each (Sam does not sell flower seeds).

Once you plant and harvest 5 flowers, the next morning you'll be greeted by Blossom, the purple Harvest Sprite. Rowan and Blossom will explain that you can now talk to them at the Goddess' Pond and ask for their help: Rowan will help your crops grow and Blossom will help your flowers grow.

In the middle of Spring you'll see a bard in one of your dreams. After you see the vision, visit the Harvest Goddess Shrine to meet Gilbert, who will only be visiting the area. He likes to go fishing, and gives you a fishing pole. Gilbert also explains how to use Fill to build dirt paths across water, so now you can go over the stream and explore the rest of the valley.

Soon afterward, you'll have another Harvest Sprite dream. This time, the little sprite is hoping that someone can catch a lot of fish. Go to the stream that runs through the valley and catch 5 fish. The next morning, Rowan and Blossom will appear with their new friend, the blue Harvest Sprite, Dewey.

After you've unlocked three sprites, you'll see another night time vision. This time it is the Harvest Goddess herself, who requests you to meet with her at the pond. Head up to the Goddess' Soring when you've a moment, where Rowan will remind you of the bracelet. Dum-da-da-DAAA, the Harvest Goddess then makes her grand entrance.
