The Fall Crystal

Since you'll need to do a lot of digging to reach the Underworld Kingdom and meet the king, you're going to need a Hammer. A blacksmith would be a good person to ask, so head over to Moon Valley on a Tuesday or Friday between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm. It seems that you've run across a training exercise that isn't going so well for Tony. Brutus is trying to instruct his son and to pay more attention, but Tony just isn't getting it, and he runs off in frustration. You'll then receive the Cheer up Tony request.

The cheeriest person around is Emily, so go talk to her on a Monday or Tuesday when she is in front of your house. She advises you to try and talk to him, but if he doesn't respond to conversation then you can give him some Bread to snack on. She gets happy when other people become happy from eating her Bread.

Return to Tony when he is in Moon Valley. He still doesn't want to talk about what happened with his dad, but you had him the Bread. The gift cheers him up, and he tells you the story about a a knife he was suppose to fix, but his dad would just give him vague criticisms and not tell him exactly what he was doing wrong. You can respond by telling him that he's rushing things or suggest he take a closer look. Either response is okay, as Tony will get inspired to look into it further.

Go talk to Tony the next time he is in Moon Valley. He explains he found the problem with the knife and shows the fixed blade to his dad. Even though he fixed the knife, Brutus still scolds Tony for not figuring it out sooner. Tony is glad he solved the problem. To reward you for your help, Tony will make a Hammer. You'll have to wait for the next time he visits Moon Valley though.

Now that you have a hammer, you can go into the Mine Sites and press the A Button on the jaggy rocks to obtain ore. You can hit a mining point a couple of times each day.

Check the southwest portion of your map, where you'll see a doorway to the Underworld Kingdom. The entrance to the underground land is on the very bottom level of the world. You may need to dig down about 22 levels to find the entrance. If you get stuck, don't forget you have the H. Sprite Whistle to warp you back to your farm house.

You'll need to do a lot of digging to reach the round entrance. Once inside, you'll meet Gorgon, the Underworld King. He tells you to buzz off, as he's no interest in talking to someone from the surface. As you leave his kingdom, you bump into Rowan. He knows of a Harvest Sprite who is friends with Gorgon. Maybe this sprite will talk to the king for you.

The next morning, Rowan will stop by your house and introduce you to Flint. The orange sprite volunteers to go and chat with Gorgon for you. He also lets you know that you can now hire up to three Harvest Sprites to work at one time. (If you haven't unlocked Flint, try going into the Mine Sites and collect some ore.)

Head back to the Underworld Kingdom and talk with Gorgon. He knows you are looking for a Fall Crystal, but he won't craft one for you until you bring him an impossible-to-find Blessed Fruit.

Talk to the Harvest Goddess, who is surprised by Gorgon's rudeness. She knows how to get a Blessed Fruit, but it will take some time. First, you need to find the Blessed Seeds.

You know that Gilbert is knowledgeable about plants, so talk to the bard when he is in the Harvest Goddess Spring area, Thursdays from 8:00 pm to 2:00 am. Gilbert says that he holds the seeds, but they are very important to him. Before he'll give you the Blessed Seeds, he requests that you locate the Flower of Grace. Animals can find this plant, so he suggests you talk to someone who knows a lot about animals.

Talk to Hunter when he is inside your barn on Monday, Tuesday, or Saturday between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm. He personally doesn't know anything about the flower, but he has seen animals around. Hunter shows you one of the local rabbits, and explains that if you pet them, you'll become better friends. This particular rabbit has something in its mouth. It is a Flower of Grace!

Return to the Harvest Goddess Spring when Gilbert is there in the evening. The bard is surprised that you were able to find the elusive flower that he requested. Give him the Flower of Grace and receive the Blessed Seeds in exchange, with a reminder from Gilbert that these seeds are being entrusted to your care. His main quest has been to find a suitable place to plant the special seeds.

After you see the wild rabbit with Hunter, you'll begin to see more wild animals appear in the Lost Valley such as rabbits, flying eagles, bears, and night-time cats.

Visit the water shrine again when the Harvest Goddess is available. While it's great that you have the seeds, now you'll need to find someone who knows a lot about growing trees.

Talk to Catherine when she is in Moon Valley on Fridays between 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm. She remembers her father talking about the Blessed Seeds when she was younger, but all she can remember is a bed-time rhyme about the seeds awakening with Tears of Happiness and an Insta-Sun.

Now that you have the two missing pieces, talk to the Harvest Goddess. The tree should be planted at a gathering spot, so Rowan picks the area next to your farm house to plant the tree. The magical tree sprouts up immediately, but there's no fruit on its branches.

That night, you dream of a voice. It tells you that you already have the missing ingredient to make the Blessed Fruit grow. In the morning, the Harvest Sprites are panicking because of an unusual storm that is going on outside. Gorgon must be sabotaging your quest! When you run outside to investigate, you'll see that there are already people here. Hunter, Gilbert, Tony, Emily, April, and even Catherine have come to see if you are okay. They volunteer to check on your farm for you, so they split up to investigate.

You hear the voice again, who tells you that this valley is no longer a place where nobody comes; it is a place of refuge for all! The voice calls out to the Underworld King to protect the precious valley. Suddenly you experience a vision of Gorgon. He never imagined that you would be able to actually grow the Blessed Fruit. Gorgon explains that long ago, the valley was bountiful and many people lived here. Unfortunately, the people and animals forgot to be thankful to the land. They were greedy and eventually caused great harm to the land. Gorgon was so disappointed that he holed himself up in the Underworld Kingdom, hoping for the day that life and love returned to the valley.

Gorgon is pleased that you've been able to revive the valley, and wishes to protect the land again. He turns the Blessed Fruit into the Fall Crystal, which is then used by the Harvest Goddess to restore the fall season. Gorgon reminds you to appreciate the beautify of the land.

A few days later, you'll have a dream with the Harvest Sprites. They are happy that you have returned the seasons and hope that you'll stay in the Lost Valley forever. As they celebrate with you, a single purple Harvest Sprite watches from a distance...

After the staff ending credits, Rowan will visit your house and remind you that you can now experience bad weather storms in the Lost Valley. The bookshelf inside your house will now have a View Credits option so you can watch the ending staff roll again if you want (and you can't cancel once you start it).

Now you can continue on with completing villager requests and woo-ing marriage candidates. You might also try raising your friendship with the Underworld King.
