During the Summer season, giant storms will blow in from the coast. If you check your weather report on tv and you see a picture of an umbrella folded backwards as though it was caught up in
the wind, then you'll know a hurricane is going to be arriving tomorrow. When the hurricane blows
in you can't leave your farm house or take care of your animals and crops. You can't even watch
anything on tv! The wind has blown the reception out of wack. The only thing you can do is go
back to bed.
When the hurricane is over the next morning it will leave a mess of debris in your crop field. The good thing about a big storm is that it brings in small stones that you can use for building fences. In past Harvest Moon games once all the stones on your farm were smashed there was no way of getting new ones. Now the hurricane blows a few of them back in every Summer.
The same large storms occur during the Winter. On random days of the season you'll have to deal with Snowstorms that keep you locked inside all day long. The Snowstorms will leave debris behind too, but there won't be any crop damage since you can't grow anything during that season.
