A Botanist's temper
If you're good friends with Basil and Mary is not married yet, go to his house during the Spring season between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm. The weather must be rainy and it can't be a Monday afternoon. As you go upstairs into Basil's room, you'll find him pacing back and forth. If you talk to him, he'll explain that he wrote a book and someone is saying he made a mistake in it. Seems like the guy ended up eating a poisonous mushroom while using Basil's book as a guide. Now the guy is blaming Basil and even sent him a hate letter!
Basil's not sure if he should write the guy back. If you tell Basil to explain to the guy how he misread and made a mistake (answer #1) you'll increase your friendship with Basil.
