Karen's Black Heart event
Head to Jeff's Store on Wednesday or Friday between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm. You also have to have an empty slot in the Tools section of your rucksack. When you enter the store Karen is there to greet you. She knows you just started working on the farm and you might need a lot of new supplies. If you tell her you need help (option #1), she'll walk to the back and ask her dad if they can supply you with a bag of seeds. After some persuasion, Jeff agrees to hand out a bag of Grass Seeds for free.
