The best thing about this game, imo, is that it's much more laid-back then the newer HM games. There's no running around unlocking things, having to collect groups of rare items x-number of times, etc. It's a go at your own pace kind of game, and very enjoyable :)
It's easier than all of the newer games because you don't have to take into account freshness or size or quality, there's just a very simple crop-leveling system and animal produce levels easily.

However, many people have a small amount of trouble collecting the 60 sprites to rescue the godess and get married. But with cher's guide, you shouldn't have too much trouble.

HM:DSC was my all-time favorite HM game, but it was also my first and what got me into HM so I'm biased... I don't like the newer games (especially GB, and TToTT isn't my cup of tea..) probably because they're challenging and time passes too slowly. Same with the Wii games..

So yes, since you're planning to pick it up next paycheck, have fun with it! :)

HM:DS was my first game in the series, and I have to say it's one of the most well-rounded games that I own. There's nothing that exactly stands out about the game, but it brings in many popular aspects of the other games, and it sure doesn't disappoint.

Of course, everyone who has responded is a Harvest Moon fan of some level, so the responses you get were destined to be fairly positive. I hope you'll look into investing into this quirky little game! =]

I think you should get it! This game is one of my favorites. ^^

I definately recommend this game, it's amazing! I love how the Mineral Town characters can come over to Forget me not Valley :)

It's not really, in this case.
The game is great though, I'm on year four, just got married, and I've still got so much left to do

Awesome! The game sounds really good! There's so much more to do than on FoMT, though I do love it!

You can always use the yellow sprites to get your animals hearts up without the glove ;3 I haven't scratched my screen yet, just rub gently.

There's four mine. First is ten, second is 99 and the third is 255 and the fourth one is ridiculous (I can't remember the number >.>;).

I still play on this one from time to time. I have the Cute version, but they are pretty much the same (only in Cute, you play as a girl and it's less glitchy). This was my first HM so I'm very fond of it.
