Topic review - RF3: Villager Weapons
Author Message

Thanks again for that contribution.

List was updated with many things, like colour, two notes, new information and japanese names for known startup weapons.
Trying to test out things every second or third day, just be patient with me. ;)

Edit (25. July 2010): List was updated, only 6 entries have startup-weapons missing now, will check those (hopefully) in another 2~3 days.

Dahlia starts with A hammer。
Shokora starts with A giant lollipop。
I got Gazi's in A quest with him (the one where he wants To go mining in the summer dungeon)I think
P.S. I am typing with A Chinese computer so excuse the mistakes

All new info added, thanks for answering my Dual Sword question NNescio and thanks to both of you for your contribution.

Uh, um... keep up the good work! :P
Added some of Persia's weapon capabilites as well (not sure if correct right now, but busy with other things).

Those startup weapons are probably hard to find out, without spending much time making a new game and getting enough friendship with all... or are they unlocked as companions after specific quests?

Two-handed swords (両手剣) Dual swords (双剣)

Also, Karin uses staves while Sophia uses one-handed swords. (that aside, who uses both hands to hold an umbrella/parasol?)

A two-handed word, on the other hand, is "ambidextrous". <jokes>

Gluten and Shinonome. And nobody else, IIRC.

That said, from a pure mechanical perspective (stats and attack types), Toona is arguably the best partner to have.

(Fireball spammage)

Has low hp though, but that's not much of an issue. (move to a new screen and heal her)

I would like to know which Villager wears what weapon at startup and also what they CAN wear. Hopefully this thread brings together a helpful list.

If that's too much to ask, does anyone at least know which Villager is capable of wearing dual swords? (edit: was already answered.)

Colour explanation
Green - Information complete, rechecked and accurate.
Orange - Not all information available or recheck wasn't done yet.
Red - No information available yet.

Sia - Watering Cans (at startup: ボロのじょうろ "Scrap Waterpot")
Shokora - Axes, including farming tools (at startup: ペロペロキャンディー "Lollipop")
Marion - Canes (at startup: 魔法の注射器 "Magic Syringe" ~actually a trompete~)
Karin - Staves (at startup: None)
Persia - Two-Handed Swords (at startup: デカッシュ "Dekasshu" ~a huge Tuna~)
Sophia - One-Handed Swords (at startup: スティールソード "Steel Sword")
Sakuya - Two-Handed Swords (at startup: クレイモア "Claymore")
Ion - Fishing Rods (at startup: ボロの釣竿 "Scrap Fishing Rod")
Toona - One-Handed Swords (at startup: ???)
Monica - Staffs (at startup: None)
Gaji - Two-Handed Swords (at startup: グレートソード "Great Sword")
Gluten - Dual Swords (at startup: ???)
Rusk - Magic Rods (at startup: ???)
Heaser - Axes, including farming tools (at startup: バトルアックス "Battle Axe")
Elisa - Magic Rod (at startup: スタッフ "Staff")
Shinonome - Dual Swords (at startup: ???)
Carlos - Spears (at startup: ???)
Kururufa - Magic Rod (at startup: アイスロッド "Ice Rod")
Zeze - One-handed Swords (at startup: カトラス "Cutlass")
Dahlia - Hammer, including farming tools (at startup: ウォーハンマー "War Hammer")

Note about different Types of Staffs
Cane: The companion uses these staffs for physical and magical attacks.
Stave: Companion likes to hit enemies (physical attacks only).
Staff: Pure Decoration, since Monica doesn't use it at all o_O (maybe she heals you when HP is low...)
Magic Rod: This means the companion uses his weapon for magical attacks only.

Ion, Toona, Gluten, Rusk, Shinonome and Carlos were rechecked, but their startup weapon is currently unknown to me, another thing to do later.
