I see a lot of lolita at all the cons, I'm 90% sure she is wearing EGL.(like Anju) I wear a lot of stuff like this so I know a lot about it. I'm sure the artist cant copy anything exactly for obvious reasons, so I would say it is as close to lolita as they can get.

I don't want to start an argument or anything, but No... it's not lolita. Or EGL. I'm pretty confident I know my stuff too... :|

Just because something has frills, knee socks, and a full skirt, doesn't make it lolita. Still looks like something that might be seen in a Kera magazine, but not rori.

Her top (which including her cuffs over there) is similar to a fetishistic waitress uniform of some sort. You know as in cafes? I've seen way too much of that ....here.

Enju is just dressed in average Japanese street fashion, with Victorian influence. I wouldn't exactly call it lolita, though it is def. inspired by that too, judging by the skirt and socks. Navy blue is slowly becoming a more popular color, but there's something about the shirt that throws it off (usually shirts are solid colors!). The cut of her shirt kind of reminds me of Baby the Stars Shine Bright's spinoff line, Alice and the Pirates.

Yes, Enju is wairing Lolita. It is a lot like Anju from Chibi Vampire Karin.

No, I wouldn't exactly call it lolita. Not authentic lolita, anyway. Her skirt may be (that's leaning more punk lolita IMO). But her shirt. Her shirt is crazy.

I went out of my way to find their name origins.

Shelfa - I could not find anything on "Shelfer", but with Shelfa I got the reference to the chaffinch, which is a small finch bird that is the most common in Europe. Just to describe how it looks like, a typical chaffinch's color scheme is very much like Shelfa's dress.

Lloyd - "grey"; Welsh origins. Man...that matches somehow.

Anemone - From the flower and...sea thing. It derives from Greek meaning "wind".

Agi - A variant of "Agatha" (good) or "Agnes" (chaste). That's right, it's a FEMALE name. Saint Agnes was known for her innocence...which = virginity. Of course. Saint Agatha was known for blacking out on Roman officials.

Freya - If you retain "Freyja", the name specifically refers to a principal Norse goddess who "is portrayed as a goddess of love, beauty, and fertility. Blonde, blue-eyed, and beautiful Freyja is described as the fairest of all goddesses, and people prayed to her for happiness in love. She was also called on to assist childbirths and prayed to for good seasons. Freyja was also associated with war, battle, death, magic, prophecy, and wealth." Comment on that if you will.

Just Freya refers to "lady". (O FREYA YOU MARY SUE UUUU)

Juris - Juris is just a variant of "George". Just a pretty generic English name. Well, there's Saint George who owned and pwnted dragon in English Catholic tales so.

Enju - Well Anju (yeah I'm not sure which is the correct spelling of her name) is Indian for "blessings".

Enju, however, refers to a tree... I think. Just guessing this from Rozen Maiden perspectives.

Dirka - It means a race or competition. Apparently, it's also a racist slur against how Middle Eastern people speak their respective languages.

Kagetsu - "moon"; Someone pointed out her design is probably a reference to the Chinese goddess of the moon.

Schmidt - Variation of "Smith"...as in...blacksmith. Yeah I hoped for something special too.

Also, looking back at this list, all the rival pairings are amazingly perfect somehow. Shelfer x Lloyd seems kinda "d'aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw ;3; <3" or "Man I'd feel like a horrible « Pumpkin Kisser » for breaking up something so kyoot like that but I'll marry him/her anyway </3".

I freakin' love that website. Whenever I go to it I'm always tempted to spend the ridiculous amount of cash they demand for their dresses... TT^TT They are always soooo pretty

Agi just looks like Bohemian crack to me. Or something...

Like

As little birds are pushed out of the nest so they learn how to fly, so do mothers stop dressing their little boys. And sometimes, the little birds don't make it, and they fall. Such is Agi.

*cough*

The female protagonist looks like "pop cawaii European-kei desu ^w^"
The Japanese pop fashion influence is pretty obvious, but it's still trying to go with the theme.

Boy just looks like a little boy dressing up as a pirate.

Yep you're right.

It's basically the partner to the Moon rabbit thing. And I just find out Kagetsu means moon and all... things make sense now.

Schmidt apparently is just the German variant of Smith. However it's interesting to note that it's the name of a lunar crater.

wtfmoonpplzinMYEUROPE

And also, hippies have more taste than that come on </3
