Well, it's possible. In my game, the watering can is the only tool I've built up enough so far to get a limit break, so that's the only experience I've got with that particular request. I've almost got the hoe up high enough...we'll see what happens with that one.

The first time I got the request, it was in the middle of the season. I haven't had an amethyst yet and so I haven't been able to complete it. The level break request shows up randomly now sometimes in the beginning of the month and sometimes in the middle, but not every month. I've been able to upgrade my other tools even with that request up...

But I've never accepted the request, just left it on the board and taken the other tool upgrade requests he puts up. That might affect it?

Yeah, the same thing happened to me. I got Sheng's super watering can request in the middle of the month after I upgraded my sickle. I couldn't fulfill the request last month so I thought it would pop up again at the beginning of this month, but it hasn't. I only got the usual hoe or sickle options at the beginning of the new month. I only have Sheng at 2 flowers and I haven't even started the mine since I'm not done upgrading my farm in Bluebell. I really want the seed maker too. I've never lived in Konohana so I hope it doesn't take too long after moving there (after I finish the farm in Bluebell) to get the seed maker.

Nope, the "limit break" request shows up on the first day of the season and takes the place of your tool upgrade for that season.

I've already gotten it. I just kept upgrading the watering can over and over, and after I upgraded the watering can the fourth time (so it got to level 5) then the next season I got the limit break request.

I hadn't upgraded any other tools at all, and I don't have the mine. My request board level...I'm not sure. I was probably around level 7 or 8 at the time, that's true. My friendship with Sheng was likely at 5 flowers or so.

I've gotten lvl 5 watering can after got one of my other tool upgrade too (just to 2nd level). no need for mine. hmmm.. my request level must be lower than 8 lvl *i still at lvl 8 now* back then and Sheng's heart was already in full bloom.
And.... If my memory not confused me *that happen sometimes :p*, I'm sure that request not shown up at first day of month. Mine *may be* shown at 15th or 16th after I complete other tool upgrade.

There was a rumor that you would need to upgrade 2 of your tools to stage 4 before getting the lvl 5 watering can, but I can say for sure now that it does not matter. I got mine way before that. Even so, having the mine would help you a lot, since you will be asked an amethyst.

The fogu page says you only need the watering can to be at level 5, 14,900 FP with Sheng, and a request level 4 and higher to unlock it. I doubt you'd need the mines.

I am really sorry if this had been asked I couldn't find it >.> my question is does I need to have something done? in order for that request to appear?
what i mean is I have been just leveling my watering can, so I am in year 2 on fall 1st, but sheng is not giving me the option to upgrade to limit break i don't really know why, I have a request board lvl 8, sheng is a full bloom flower, maybe my theory is right and I need to confirm that maybeeee i need to have the mines available? that is my theory because I dont have it, I am on my second tunnel expansion but I am focusing on making my field bigger so I am skipping all cooking festival till at least I have the seed makers, but then again for the watering can limit break, one of the pre requisites is that you have the mines or at least another tunnel availabe? can someone let me know?
