Topic review - Where do Bears Break Boulders?

I appreciate all of this help.

I appreciate all of this. Thank you.

I also appreciate knowing what I may find there.

I did not know that there were any boulders behind the waterfall. I frequently walk behind it, when I forage in that crack, and jump in the river, hoping to find things, when I fall in.

One is on the third or second screen from Konohana side, I think.

Eh, it's up to you when you move. Certainly you will get one farm up to 100% the fastest if you always stay on that farm and never move, but for me, I'd never have the patience to stay on one farm that long, so I move back and forth a lot. Yeah, that means I will take longer to get the first farm up to 100%, but oh well.

If you would like more detail about exactly which boulders the bear breaks each time, here you go:

1st time: Breaks the boulders down at the bottom-left of the waterfall screen, like you said, and gives you a kind of "back way" into the next screen up the mountain.

2nd time: Breaks the boulders up in the upper-left corner of the waterfall screen, again letting you into the next screen up the mountain, but this area is a dead-end, good only for occasionally finding scrap metal, copper, ore stones, and the occasional bug.

3rd time: Breaks the lone boulder in the middle of the trees in the bottom-right corner of the waterfall screen, across the river (you can hop across the river using the stepping stones). This boulder reveals a bouncy mushroom that will toss you back up to the main path.

4th time: Breaks the lone boulder at the far end of all the bridges in Bluebell High-Mountain. (go down that side path nearest the top-right of the screen, hop down the ledges and cross two bridges to find a dead-end where the boulder is). This reveals a bouncy mushroom that lets you down into that area below the second bridge where you'll sometimes see a bear walking around.

About foraging from the crack by the waterfall - you can get there day one, you do not need to break any boulders. Just hop down the ledges from the left side of the stone bridge, and then go over to the river (don't hop across it) and follow the river bank up and under the bridge and you will get up to the waterfall, and the crack is right there. It's just a regular foraging spot like any of the other stumps and cracks you find on the mountain, except this one is the easiest place to randomly find ore stones.

Thanks for letting me know this. So they are all on the same screen with the Waterfall, and it will not happen in Winter, and that there are actually 4 bear events with triggers.
First tunnel work done-Waterfall, and it lets me walk onto another screen from a different angle this way.
Second Tunnel-You said waterfall screen, and someone said about foraging stuff from the crack behind the waterfall-not done yet
Third Tunnel-You said Waterfall screen somewhere there.

A fourth one later, different screen, Bluebell High Mountain, only after the following:
a farm is at 100%
and
2 Mine expansions

I have read somewhere that it is a good idea to complete a through the mine request and build the mine, before we ever move to the other farm anyway.

Not on horseback
Not on Rainy Days
Not in WInter

Thank you for all of your help. I appreciate it.

songstorm's right. The first 3 bear events (from the 3 tunnel expansions) are all in Konohana Mid-Mountain (with the waterfall) so you just need to walk into that screen and it will randomly happen. And yeah, I'm pretty sure it needs to be sunny - at least, I've never seen one of the events happen when it's raining.

Another thing to mention, though, is that it can't be Winter. The bears hibernate in Winter, so if you do a tunnel request then, you will have to wait until Spring to trigger the event.

And the events can be triggered any time after the expansion is complete - it could be the same day, or months afterward. In my first file I didn't know about these events right away so I rode my horse everywhere. I had fully completed the tunnel (all three requests) before I learned about them. After that, I ditched my horse and was able to trigger all three bear events all on the same day by just entering and leaving the screen repeatedly.

There is a fourth bear event that takes place on Bluebell High-Mountain, but you can't trigger that until waaaaaay later in the game, after you complete the two mine expansions (which you can't do until at least one farm is up to 100%).

The 3 main bear events (connected to the tunnel expansions) all occur in the Kono-Mid screen (the one with the waterfall). As molly says, you cannot be riding your horse and I believe it has to be sunny. My experience has been that you can only trigger the event between 10am-4pm. I'm pretty sure you could trigger it the same day that you did the tunnel expansion.

you have to walk (or run) it wont activate if you are on your horse! ermmm ill try and describe where i got mine, so i hope you can make sense of what im saying :)
i know that one of them was in the area just after the little brick bridge (kono to blue), where your jump up some platforms or hills or whatever before getting on a mushroom to the other side.
another was in the area where the waterfall is, you know the place where you can forage stuff from the crack behind it
sorry i forgot where the last one was, but ill tell you if i remember, hope i helped :)

oh and i think it has to be sunny wheather, but other than that im not sure if its an exact date or time or whatever. i think they can just trigger on any sunny non-festival day

I know that there are 3 areas where the bears break boulders or something. I know they also deal with the tunnel being opened again. You do not necessarily have to be the bears friend, when this happens.

Today, my first Summer, Eileen did her first work on the tunnel, so I was wondering whre the three areas are located.

Where are the three areas? Could you list them in order please? By the way, I do not know what each area of the mountain is referred to yet. I live in Konohana, if that may make it easier to describe the order.

How do you trigger them?
Do you have to walk or can you be on horse?
It is Sunny today, but does it only happen when it is sunny?
Can it happen on half sunny days?
Will it happen today, or be another day?
Does the day or time become a factor?

I welcome any help with this. Thank you.
