Ushi No Tane - Harvest Moon

You'll see a lot of requests for things you can't possibly turn in. Like year 2 or 3, Bluebell mayor wanted like 9 x 2 kinds of gems from the mine. I was like, REALLY??!! As if I'd give you 200,000 gold worth of gems to you for a few of plums and some seeds??

They really ask for out of season things and impossibles like "I need 8 rose wine, due today" when it takes 36 hours to make one, IF you had all the ingredients. /grr

And it's really hard to pre-make things just in case they ask for it when you have limited storage space!!!

It's a rank B request, titled 'Need a Meal!'.
He's asking for 3 pickled carrots and 3 pickled onions, they have to have at least one star or better. The reward is 660g and 16 marguerite seeds

I live in Konohana now, and I don't even have the pickling pot yet! (Though a tunnel request this fall and one coming up in winter surely have something to do with it... But on Konohana, you need to have gotten three field upgrades and the waterwheel before the pickling pot comes up as an option.) So don't worry.
But what sort of request did Cam want pickled items for?

Pickled items aren't a recipe; they're items that you need a maker shed in Konohana to create. You need the pickling pot, which can only be found on Konohana after a few expansions. If you have it, you need carrot and oil for the pickled carrot, and it takes five hours to process. The pickled onion needs an onion and oil, and it takes three hours. If you live in Bluebell and have never lived on Konohana, or if you haven't gotten a request from Eileen to build it (it's the same standard upgrade request), then you won't be able to complete the request.

What year are you in? And what sort of request does Cam want Pickled items for?

Cam's request for pickled carrots and onions has appeared on my bulletin board, however I don't know how make those... and I can't find the recipe for it on the ushi page. Help?
