I guess they abandon it until the next plucky city-slicker-farmer-wannabee wanders into town and revitalizes it.

xD LOL! Wow!
You know, when you play as a guy in that game, you move out of your farm; the mayor says that the villagers will take care of it for you while you're gone.
xD I wonder what ever happens to that farm after you get married? I don't think the villagers would take care of it for that long!
LOL, if the villagers would take care of it for you, from the beginning, why did you even get that farm up and running?

Just to say "Have a nice day daddy!"
I love the wife's pregnancy dialogue: "You must work for your child." It sounds like she's not gonna have the kid unless you go out and bust your buns.

Alright, I'll try that...
>.>; I might have to restart the game, and keep playing it, until whatever was wrong gets fixed and I can finally marry her...
xD LOL! Do your kids talk in this game?

When I played once I managed to skip almost all of the heart events, but got married anyway. I remember getting the proposal scene and being like "Bwuh? But I didn't see ____ event yet!"
So, persevere? Play a couple in-game months more, keep giving her gifts, and see how it goes, I guess.

I remember after getting married in the game as a girl, I switched to playing as a guy because I wanted to continue the game.
So, I got the girl's heart level up. Saw all of her lines, but didn't trigger all of her heart events.
After seeing her second heart event, no more events occurred.
I had no problem as a guy, and I figured I knew what to expect on triggering the events with the girl. With the guy, you always just answered a question he popped up when talking to him, I figured it was the same with the girl.
She stopped asking questions after the second.. I just kept giving her gifts, thinking I could get the event later.. >_>; I suppose I messed up the game now..
Well, that was a long time ago. I think it might be due to the effect on the cartridge maybe. I haven't played the game for a long while, so when I started playing it again, so it took several tries to get it to working. The cartridge might have somehow erased that event or something.. (probably not, but meh..)
