I'll give you my top 3 reasons for loving this game: 1) The characters have actual personalites and amazing background stories 2) The bachelors are amazing!!! (Cliff and Gray  ) 3) Simple yet EXTRAVAGANT ^_^ One of my favorite HM games of all time, truly amazing. (EDIT: Didn't mean to post, forgot this was dead o.o ) I'll give you my top 3 reasons for loving this game:

It's really one of my favorite HM game. I think it's better than the first because it has more events on the villagers. It's fun and It surely is a game for all ages  I keep coming back everytime  It's really one of my favorite HM game.

Basically what everyone else said. I love the characters deep background stories the most (especially Cliff which is one of the reasons I fell in love with him ) because new HM's just seem to have more and more sugary sweet characters. It would be nice if they listened to us, or at least tried to do something from their older games Basically what everyone else said.

This is also my first game ^^ And also what everybody else said 
But speaking of having a daughter, I remember having mine and... it never getting past the toddler stage O.O Now I know that she's not supposed to grow past that, but I've always felt guilty about it because her birthday is in the winter, and there was a snowstorm the day she turned 6, and I thought I missed a crucial birthday event that had her grow up. ...but I didn't ^^;

This was my first game i've ever played (and I was very hooked as well ) I married Rick.... Then I accedentily deleted my file then I made a new one... Married the same hubby I had before, had a little girl. Then I just played cupid with everyone It is a very enjoyable game. Simple & sweet.
No need for fancy 3D graphics. No need for special little hoorah's
You farm simple, you court simple, and you tend to your animals simple. It's this gameplay that allows it to be so addictive.

My first game I love everything about it. I married Cliff, and took 3 or 4 years to get him up to a red heart, and it was just the greatest time of my life playing this game. Try unlocking special/funny/scary events such as;
View the cliff fainting scene, then faint while Cliff is in the hospital bed. Now, watch the left side of your screen..
Exactly at 0:00 look in the mirror a lot, over and over.
At 4:44 watch some TV.

MFoMT and FoMT are hands down my favorite HM games of all time. You can easily pick it up, and play for a couple hours straight. The town is simple, their is no plot, it's fun to grow crops and watch your file grow and to create such a nice farm. I love this game way to much haha xD
