Rubbing is a HUGE boost, just make sure you rub before speaking or gifting.

Yeah. I pretty much used that trick and shipped everything to make more money. I had everyone at 6-10 hearts just before year two.

The 'rubbing' thing is a great little boost.

@Tori It does work, i do it all of the time.

It takes about 7-14 days to get a guy up to one heart. If you want to get someone up really fast I suggest Toby. He loves fish and those are easy to get. Also he's really sweet. I just love him But if you are a Chase lover then you could give him clams, oysters and I think seas urchins.

Never tried that trick with the other wii remote but if it works please tell me. ^^

Another thing you could do instead of finding certain items that villagers like, just think of more general items that you would think they might like... Example: Ozzie and Paolo like pretty much any fish.

Also, you could use rewards that you get (from things like farm degree) to give to people, like Maya and Colleen like the Strawberry Milk you can get.


So I guess their jobs could also kinda be 'hints' about things they'd like... Hope this helped a bit...

Well I think Ill try it tonite see if it help. I'm on day 15 and no heart from anyone so far.

It's not 2 player. It's just a way of getting a boost of affection. The 2nd pad doesn't do much more than that.

Nice, I didn't even know it was a multiplayer game. Kinda like Mario Galaxy I guess. The second player doesn't really play that much.

A little red heart should appear with your 2nd pad, if you rub(for lack of better thing to compare it to) by moving it across the characters, they jump, do it twice for boost of affection.

What do you mean by rubbing?

There is a sort of cheat thing that helps. If you have 2 remotes you can use the 2nd pad to gain extra relationship with them by rubbing them with a little heart that comes. So if you used that and like gifts it will be a little faster.

I can find what they love easily, in fact it's even written in the villager's list. But it's taking SO long!
It's like the quest to find 10 green herbs to get a bigger rucksac. I wish I could be those

Finding out and giving them loved gifts is the best thing. it takes about twice as long with like gifts. It gets their hearts up alright but it always seems to take a while.

If there is anyone in specific you want to befriend, let me know, i know at least one love gift for all characters.

Also it is easier to get hearts with livestock than with people.

I started HM AP a couple of days ago. I wanted to know a few things about befriending villagers. Can you befriend someone with giving him or her gifts like in other HM where you can talk to them and it'll raise their heart level?

Also..do you have any tips for befriending someone? I've been giving gifts around town but so far I've only got a heart level from my calf
