You do not need to catch different fish.
Have you been shipping the fish? If it stays in your Rucksack, it won't unlock Denny.
If you have been shipping them, then just keep fishing. He'll come eventually. |

| Mark is kinda tricky for wooing. He takes forever ( :roll: ) to get to the island and then you have to take a long to woo him. It is mostly because he does not have a Favorite anything. He just Really Likes anything; including weeds. So you only get +300 FP instead of getting a Love FP (+500 FP) or ... |

I would try keeping them inside more often. If you know it's a Cooking Festival, leave them inside and see if that helps.
If you don't want to keep then inside, I would try brushing them everyday. You get into the habit quickly, don't worry.

Since you can get the dog only on Snowy or Rainy/Cloudy days, I would suggest just talking to her and giving gifts she likes to her everyday until Winter. Then you don't have to wait for bad weather if you got her heart up immediately when you're in Summer or something.
