Ushi No Tane - Harvest Moon

If you propose to Skye when you see him at night, after meeting all other requirements, he will not accept your feather. After he has rejected your proposal you must go to bed with the feather in your rucksack to proceed with the marriage proposal.

I found the above on the bachelor page for Skye, but the wording confuses me. Does it mean I can't marry him, or do I just have to try proposing to him again or something?

Basically, if you have all the requirements and all set to marry him go and propose to him when he comes to the valley. When you do, he'll turn you down. No matter how many times you try to make him take your feather. So, you go home and make sure you keep your blue feather in your bag and go to sleep. When you wake up, there should be a note on the table from him. Continue day as normal, and when your done with day things, go to bed and then you'll wake up since Skye is coming in. Then propose to him. You'll know which one to pick but I'm not including any spoilers.

But for me, all i had to do was sleep with the blue feather in my bag and he left the note on the table without me having to show him the feather when he comes to the valley but turn you down.

You can marry him yes, but to propose to him you do it a tad differently. He is a special bachelor after all :wink:

When you propose to him, even if you've completed all the requirements (60 sprites, Big Bed, Red Heart, all Heart Events seen), he'll reject the proposal. Then, that night, you go to bed with the Blue Feather in your rucksack. The next morning (I think), you'll get a note from him saying he'll steal or heart. Then when you go to sleep, he'll come to your house, and you'll have to choice to give him your heart or not. If you choose "Give him your heart", you'll get married a week later.
