How long does it take to get your Chicken to 8 Heart affection points?

Spoiler:
Quote:
If you have entered a chicken then you need to have at least 8 hearts to win against the competitors and Popuri, who has also entered a chicken.

Besides the mini-game, there isn't much you can do to raise it's affection than leaving it outside or holding.

Do you think it takes longer than 1 year to reach 8 hearts? It's Summer now, so by next Summer I'm not sure if I can make it for the festival. :sheep:

Probably less than a year, so you should be fine for next year as long as you feed it, pick it up, don't leave it in the rain or smack it with a tool.

I have a system of taking care of animals: feed, pick up, pet.

Keep this going every day, it will eventually fall to habit, and you will have almost all your chickens above 8 hearts. I've been doing this and most of my chickens are 10 hearts. :)

Hope it helps!

P.S. If you let your chickens out, don't forget to put them away at night! :)

Feed them everyday.Pick them up everyday.Pet them, and bring them out in the pen if it's sunny. You should bring it inside again before it becomes 6 or 7.

You should unequip your tools before going back to your farmland.

NEVER smack your animals with your tools.
You should make it a habit to unequip your tools before entering the barn.

Of course smacking animals with tools is bad - I do believe the problem the fishie who posted about it is having is that chickens in grass are normally hidden by it. If they don't stand in EXACTLY the right place, you can't see them. And if you're having trouble in the barn...You shouldn't even have a tool that can harm animals active in the barn/coop. Try and get two accessories that you use often, then put them on two slots, and brush/milker on the others - or just one accessory and brush/milker/shears. That fills up the slots in the barn, and you can just put one back to love the chickens :3
