I wanted give it a try again. I'd bought it forever ago, played it for a short while but for whatever reason I didn't like it, so it was put away for several years. I want to take a short break from ToTT, and I was originally going to start a new game on Grand Bazaar, but I Actually found this game while searching for it instead.
The only problem is, I don't have a stylus! I have no idea where it went, which is very annoying because I'd never lost it before. Is there something I can use besides my finger for a makeshift stylus, because I heard you need it to move around in this game (which sounds incredibly annoying).
Help? (Or should I just go play GrB instead? XD)

Can't you buy a new stylus? They're sold very cheaply as accessories in game stores or online. Anyway, for the time being, just use a pen with its lid on or something That usually works. It's quite annoying that they make you rely completely on the stylus but oh well...

Well, I won't be going into town for a few weeks, and I'm kind of an unusual situation anyway regarding money anyway. But I'll try a capped pen, thanks. :D

Yeah, pens usually work.
I though the stylus controls were very annoying at first, but you get used to them ^^ At least, I got used to them. And then I got Sunshine Islands and had a bit of trouble going back to the usual HM controls =P

There is a way that nature speaks, that land speaks. Most of the time we are simply not patient enough, quiet enough, to pay attention to the story. The pictures used for my signature and icon were not made by me.

Trust me, you get used to the stylus! You can buy a new stylus at your local GameStop or Wall-Mart, or wherever Nintendo games are sold, usually. In the meantime, a capped pen can work, but it could scratch your screen worse than a stylus does. I would advise also getting screen protectors. Oh, and by the way, when you buy a replacement stylus, it comes in a pack, usually 3 or 6 in a pack, from what I've seen. Just in case you lose your stylus again.

I tend to play the game a lot when I'm eating my breakfast and end up using the other end of my fork/spoon in place of my stylus... I know sounds goofy xP But It works rather well actually.

Luckily I have all my two NDS stylus. When I received my Nintendo DSi my brother said "take care of your stylus like it is your soul".

Hey, I did that, too. ^.^ I played on it for a while when I first got it, and didn't play on it for a long time. But then I thought that it could be a pretty good game if I gave it a chance, and I'm glad I did! The stylus controls weren't too much of a problem for me. I'd already played games where you have to use the stylus all the time before, so I was kind of used to it. But I found the game a little hard at first. I got lazy in pulling the weeds out of my field, and the weeds grew so thick that the entire field was covered. DX I couldn't be bothered to pull them all out, and I kept wasting money by accident, too. I'd buy seeds, but then I'd accidently sow them in the wrong place and have to buy more. I wasn't getting anywhere with the game, and I eventually got bored so I just abandonded it for a while. But I'm glad I started playing again, because I love it. =D
By the way, small, capped pens work well as a stylus. (E.g. Stabilo Mini Fineliner)

I played IoH on an original DS that was a hand-me-down, so the screen had a lot of scratches and, for some reason, wouldn't calibrate. The stylus was also lost, so I just used a pen. I would usually lose the pen anyway, so I usually switched from lead pencils without the lead or capped pens (and it only caused a few scratches, but I can't even tell since the screen is so scratched up lol)
Well, even on my totally uncalibrated and scratched up screen, I got used to the controls of the screen and get married to Vaughn~ But after getting my child, I kind of quit >_>
But, enjoy the game. It was my first Harvest Moon game~
