how will you earn hearts with Kirk? and give gifts?

You talk to him everyday like any other villager, but you have to stand where you won't be asked where you want to go.

Same with gifts, too. Just talk to him and he'll accept it, as long as you've talked to him five days in a row.

The easier way to Kirk gain heart is
after you talk to him 5 days a row and you get the fishing rod
you can catch small fish to give to him it's +500 talk+100 =600 fp per day
you can gain heart at least for two weeks~

It's easier to talk to him/give him gifts if you approach him from an angle, rather than straight on. Like this:

You can also stand on Verdure Island by the miner Slater's house near the water.

If I'm not mistaken, Kirk likes weeds a lot. There's no cheaper gift than that

Stones are just as cheap and are also worth 500 points as are weeds and small fish as a gift for Kirk.
