I don't think there would be much to do in the beginning since most of the crops would be watered.
Just animals to take care of and I never have many animals in the beginning.

That is one HUGE suffolk sheep.
How did you get it to show up? is the only way to see it is throughNintendo Network connection? (please say no)

It is through the wifi connection system only. Each type of livestock animal can become giant sized, but it is random if you find one.

The beginning of the game is quite slow and watering crops and looking after animals is the main activity. I made the mistake of buying 2 cows and 2 sheeep along with 4 chickens and pushing them in and out of the barn ( even with the help of the bell ) was a major pain. Everything kicked off in Autumn though. At that point I had Rod arrive eventually and between tending the crops and animals and foraging for materials for the construction of more houses it was really hectic to say the least. I would go days without chatting to any villagers as I was too busy. Unless they wandered onto my ranch or I met them in the woods.
Winter is a joy in comparison, I'm being much more chilled and the music and 3d effect are awesome with swirling snow. I'm waiting for my corn to grows so I can eventually move my man in and at that point I figure Iroha wil be packing her bags and moving west.

I actually like it when the game keeps me busy.
Like with the HM games I have now I don't have anything more to do after watering and taking care of my animals I just walk in circles until I can water my crops again.
I have all of the expansions so i can't do that.

There is a use of 3d, but I have to keep it turned off all the time. Sometimes I turn it on for a few seconds and then go back to turning it off because it's WAY too distracting for a game like this. (I personally think the 3d movies/games/tv/etc fad is really dumb and it's why I held off buying a 3ds for so long xP)

Some crops like cotton, linen, herbs etc can be done year-round. There are also winter specific crops like daikon radishes and broccoli.

I don't think there are winter-only activities though.

If you keep giving gifts to Neil he'll eventually give you a blueprint for a special bell that lets all your animals out at once I think... can't remember what materials you need to make it though...
there are also special animal tools that brush/milk/clip all animals at once. But the material requirements can be steep unless you're lucky on wi-fi.

glad I'm not alone. 3D hurts my eyes. I don't like the lame things movies do to make things 'pop out' at you. And 3D isn't really designed with glasses people in mind. -_-'

And I agree this whole 3D fad with electronics is dumb. I wouldn't have even bought the 3DS, if not for RF4 and LoB.

The entire reason why studios keep pushing out 3d movies to begin with (I believe, anyway) is because it's harder to record them in theaters and torrent them, plus they can charge a lot more for tickets and make more money that way. Consumers buying it up like the cool new thing and it spreading to other forms of electronic media is just a side effect...

(slightly off-topic but yeah -_-)

Well, at least LoB seems to utilize the 3ds for its content/data capacity and not just the 3d gimmick. It doesn't really have any emphasis on 3d it's just a minor cosmetic feature for people that like how it looks. I don't know if it's really using the 3ds cartridge to its full potential, but it's more vast (and more efficient) in its content than console games like AP, and I think that was the last "lotsa content" HM game.

Cant help but to agree with you, its good to see so much detail is being added to this game.. Can you tell me if the star ranking is still in, or will items be the same? Such as linen and cotton, and wild items you pick up?
