@Spicy normally Green Houses let you grow crops without having to care what the outside season is. So if you wanted to grow summer crops in winter you could. I'm guessing that's what they'll be used for in this game. But who knows it could be different.

Hooray for green houses though. I just hope it doesn't take ages to get them XD.
