Cows: I always name my first cow MooMoo  I'm so creative. When I get another cow I name it something starting with the letter M; in GrB my cows were named MooMoo, Janice, Marie, and Millie.
Chickens: Always name my first chick/en Clucky or Chicky(yet more originality); In DSC my chickens were Clucky, Hatchi, Clucky Jr, and Chicky. In GrB my chickens were Clucky, Henry, Annie, China, and Aibee (after Aibleen from The Help). In ToTT, I only have 1 chicken and again it's name is Chicky
Sheep: Always name my first sheep Wooly. In DSC, my sheep were Wooly and BaaBaa. In GrB, my sheep was Wooly. In ToTT, my sheep are named Wooly and Nicole.

File 2:
This is my boy file. I either name the person by his fan-name (e.g. Mark in IoH and SI and Hansel in GrB) or something Japanese (In ToTT, I named him Hiraku.)
I tend to follow the same pattern with naming animals too.

OmiGosh *-*

May i follow this tradition?

My character is usually called Spanky, just a stupid joke that has lasted since the SNES.
Horse is always Epona, I love my Zelda horse.
My first cow is either Bessie or Daisy. I always go for old ladies names.
Chickens are fun, Pook, Took, Mook...etc.
Sheep : Bob (I usually only get one and he's named after my friend.)
Dog: Iggy (After Iggy Pop = Iggy Pup>>)

The current game though I named my cow Derpy just because she looked so funny. :shifty:

My first chicken is Cucco
My dog is Milano (I love charmed)

I name characters based on how they look. The MC of ToTT looked like a Haruka to me, so I named her Haruka. This time around you can customize so... I made an OC that is a cross between 2 favorite female characters from anime (Anita from Read or Die and Key, or Tokiko Mima, from Key the Metal Idol), so she looks like one of them, but is named after the other and her personality I imagine to be a balance lol (they're total opposites personality wise). Named her Tokiko and gave her short pink hair haha.

I used to give the animals names that are kinda onomatopoeic like "fiifii" or something. This time I'm using fruits. Named my cow momo (peach) and chicken ringo (apple). as for the farm, it will forever be orenji farm (orange farm lol

I always name my Animals after the Pokemon versions like Sapphire or red. my character is almost always just called whatever the official name for him/her is, and my farm is USUALLY (not always) named "pokemon" for obvious reasons, or "mother", from the earthbound/mother series.

I normally tend to use characters from either video games, tv, or anime, with occasional mythology. For example, in my current replaying of DS Cute, I have the following:

- One Animal Shed with two cows, Lance and Tabby, and two sheep, Pietro and Wanda. (X-men Evolution.)
- One Bird Shed with four chickens called Rufus, Reno, Tseng, and Rude. (Final Fantasy VII.)
- One Bird Shed with four chickens called Cloud, Zack, Nanaki, and Yuffie. (Final Fantasy VII.)
- One Bird Shed with four chickens called Puck, Coyote, Raven, and Anansi. (Mythological tricksters, although heavily inspired by Gargoyles.)
- One Bird Shed with four ducks called Seph(short for Sephiroth), Kuja, Xenoha (short for Xenohart), and Xemnas. (All are silver-haired villians from either Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts series).

I'm also planning to buy four more cows, called Kadaj, Yazoo, Loz, and Riku. Now to just figure out what the last four livestock will be and their names...

I name my farmers off their official jap/na names depends which I like more, but if not the girl is Yuri and the boy is Thatz or Willis.

When I got my first HM it was the DS one and I was so excited I forgot to check the spelling and instead of NICK, I spelled it NIKE I didn't realized it because I literally was addicted to it and just wanted to play with it all day. So I kept it and then somebody told me later that Nike is the GODDESS of Victory :!: I though it was a boys name :!: I felt so stupid........well heres my naming traditions:

playing as a girl-Sophia
farm is always Happy Farm
horse- no matter what color is Flame
cat-Ducky
dog-Zeus or Wendell
chickens-name them numbers in spanish or the colors in french
cows and sheep-name after videogame characters because who doesn't want a cow called Altair or a sheep called Yoshi :P
alpacas and other- name after movie or tv characters and i hope alpacas dance again it was so cute in TOTT

I'll say it again:
Farm: Harvest Farm
Name: Either the default English name or my name. Or something else, I don't know.
Cows: These always vary. If it's a brown cow, Swiss. If it's any other cow, possibly Milka. Other names I've used include Tipper and Moobel.
Chickens: The first five always have the same names: Chico, Tara, Tweety, Chichi and Nead. After that it varies.
Sheep: The first one is always Wally. I always get a sheep as my first animal. I've never had a HM game where I got more than one sheep, IIRC. :P
Cat: Bebe. Always.
Dog: Waffle or Waffles, depending on the letter limit.
Horse: If brown or orange-ish colour, always named Copper. If white, Blanca or Blanche. If black, named either Dusk or Noire.
Alpacas: I haven't played a HM game with Alpacas in it yet.
Ducks (even though I don't think they are in this game): The first one is always named Quackers.

Yep.

Lately I've been calling the female Megan(My name). I call the farm Flower. For the boy it's either Vincent or James. I don't really have a tradition for anything else. I use the default names for animals if I can.

My current farm in ToT (which I recently started playing again) is called That One, so it's That One Ranch.
Ontopic: I usually name a bird Lemony, after Lemony Snicket, and I don't have a clue why.
I also always name my cow Bessy.

I have always called my ranch "The Grotto" Since A. It sounds cool and B. It ALWAYS fits even when they limit characters to a ridiculous level.

I'm rather boring with the animals. Bessie will always be my cow haha. Chickens area always 3-4 letter names. Such as Ava. I always get a dog and name it after my pup, Tink.

My character's name is almost always Lucy, it fits the character limit and during and improv session years ago my friend called me that. Kinda stuck? It used to be my real name (Kat) but it got awkward when family members would watch me play and I'd be talking to a spouse.
