I remember this being a fun topic in the SoS forum. :lala:

I made it to winter year 2 with only a cow, sheep, alpaca and chicken, and decided to go ahead and build another barn and get some more animals for clothing-making purposes.

I now have Kuzco (llama), Pacha (brown alpaca), Yzma (rabbit), and Kronk (gray rabbit). The Emperor's New Groove is one of my favorite movies ever. (:

I also have Maggie (cow), Louise (sheep), Lucy (alpaca), and Sophie (suffolk sheep). They aren't named after anything.

And my furmiliar is a Maine Coon cat named Pounce after my favorite character of a certain musical playing on Broadway right now that has to do with certain animals that meow.

What did you name your animals, and why?

I usually name my animals after the products they produce,
Milk, steak, beef, etc. for cows
mutton, chops, etc. for sheep
nugget, wing, legs, cutlet, etc for chicken.

I have a few traditions when it comes to naming my animals. First cow is always Bessie and first sheep is always Fluffy. This goes back to Harvest Moon 64. :)

Also, right now I have a Suffolk Sheep named Pinky, an Alpaca named Besto (reference to one of Auralnauts' Star Wars videos), and a Chicken named Hanna. Didn't get too creative with the Suffolk, haha. I'm still early in the game, so no pets yet, but chances are I'll get cats and name them after my real life cats.

My friend is like that! She always names her first cow Belle, ever since HM64.

Willow is a sheep in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, right? And your llama name made me lol... isn't that from Llamas with Hats? That's also what I named my boy child in SoS, but a different spelling.

I don't have a naming theme with my animals like I did in the first Story of Seasons (where everyone was named after Discworld characters), but I am having fun naming my animals all the same.

Cow 1: Yvaine
Cow 2: Luna
Sheep: Aerin
Suffolk: Reina
Alpaca: Talia
Angora: Yancy
Chicken: Fionna
Silkie: Vithia
Quail: Starr

My only pet is a gray shorthair cat named Violet.

Four hooved critters, four chickens, and four pets:

Kombu the Buffalo
Flan the Jersey
Plum the Suffolk
Sushi the Llama

Taffy the Chicken
Pocky the Quail
Ramune the Silkie
Mochi the Silkie (2)

Somen the Pyrenees
Matcha the Shiba
Umeplu the Mastiff
Lomein the Calico

All named after food. :lala: Everyone is Timid, except for Mochi, who is Active. Which is really nice because that way I can still tell my two Silkies apart at a mere glance most of the time, and I haven't fed either of them regular chicken feed or fluffy treats ever.

Oh! And my dappled horse is named Pohkei. My horse's name never matches my theme.

Taffy was my very first animal during Spring 1 (the second youngest one was bought in Autumn of Year 1) so they're my main 'festival animal', though the other ones are catching up so that I can raise their brand! I really want to get Mochi or Ramune entered in a festival.

Emperor's New Groove is one of my absolute favourite movies, too! It's such a fun movie to randomly start reciting. My mum and I both basically memorized its whole script because it played pretty much constantly in our house, heh.
Anna, Cal, I especially like some of the names you two picked out! They're really pretty

the name of most of my animals makes it really obvious that something came out quite recently and i wish i could be playing that instead, if only i could afford it....

cow1: ordona
cow2: mipha
jersey: riju
buffalo: urbosa

sheep: ilia
suffolk: syrup
alpaca: malo
brown alpaca: maple

rabbit: ravio
grey rabbit: hilda
llama: sidon

horse: link

though my pets don't follow that theme! didn't want to make things too predictable.

great pyrenees: zeus (named after my irl dog who's an all white fluff monster)
border collie: henry
bernese: teddie
german shepherd: james
himalayan cat: maia

My favorite game series is the 'Tales of' series  So I generally name everything in bokumono games off of tales of characters ^^. It's usually like that 98% of the time xD it's very rare for me to use a different naming theme.

I named my llama Kuzco too!

I didn't think of naming the others after characters though. Izma and Kronk as rabbits is a nice suggestion, I shall use it.

Other than that my names are:
Bessie, Milk, Jak (Cow, Jersey, Buffalo - yes, I know it's not called a Yak, but I don't care)
Wool, Suffle, Alpy, Amber (Sheep, Suffolk, alpaca, brown alpaca)
Bunny, Mimi (Rabbit and gray rabbit)
And Kuzco my llama
Chase, Quona, Silkie (chicken, quail, silkie chicken)

i named my livestock after animal crossing villagers. i currently have

quail: gloria and lucha
silkie: pate
sheep: wendy
suffolk: muffy
alpaca: reese
brown alpaca: cyrus
angora: mira
gray angora: coco
buffalo: rodeo
llama: drago

the llama's the only one not named after an animal of a similar type, since there are no llamas in animal crossing that i'm aware of. instead, i just named it after one of my favorites

my pets are more randomly named
black cat: yozora
gray capybara: graven
dachshund: hotdog
bernese: pooper (this is the only one i put any thought into naming, oddly enough, since when it's lying down it looks like it's... indisposed)
horse: rohan
