Favourite HM Game?
I'd be interested to know everyone's favourite HM game:3
I have played lots of them but I think AWL kept me interested for the longest period of time, ToTT is awful imo.
I'm mega excited for LoB though!
DS & FoMT would be close to AWL though and I hated IoH and SI because of the graphics D:
so, over to you!

My absolute favorite is Innocent Life. Then BTN comes as a close second, than Island of Happiness. Seems kinda weird to hate on the game because of its graphics to me. Harvest Moon's graphics are terrible, period. Models are especially « Puppy Doodoo » on the console games. Then somehow get progressively worse.
My all-time favourite is More Friends of Mineral Town, it was actually first HM I've played seriously, and first HM in that not long after succesful marriage I could restart it and play again to woo different bachelor and still had fun with it. It have nice and cute graphic, isn't very hard and most of all it's fun to play.
My second.. I think it would be tough choice between GrB / ToTT and maybe even SI, but I guess when LoB get localized it will be my top second HM game, or even top one - I have strong, gut-feeling for that.

Tough.. very tough. Here is a list of all the games I own/have played in order from best to least best. Though I can't really say I've ever hated a Harvest Moon.
1) Back to Nature
2) Magical Melody
3) A Wonderful Life
4) DS/DS Cute (these two are equal)
5) Another Wonderful Life
6) Friends of Mineral Town
7) More Friends of Mineral Town
Tale of Two Towns
9) Grand Bazaar
10) Island of Happiness
11) Tree of Tranquility
Rune Factory Games
1) Frontier
2) Rune Factory 1
3) Rune Factory 3
4) Rune Factory 2
It's really hard to order any Harvest Moon games because all have great parts to them. I have yet to get some of the games to try though.

this is because I loved the style of hm:fomt and ds because I always loved the wee man with his blue cap who spoke to very basic looking little pixels and then they would have a picture come up that was much more attractive, like karen for example. it's more of a nostalgic effect really, I just didn't like the change from cool looking pixels to big 3D bobbleheads :/ I understand the graphics had to be updated eventually but I don't really like the cartoony way they've gone, it's just a personal preference:)Lexy Jenrex wrote:My absolute favorite is Innocent Life. I've never played BTN or Innocent Life, are they for the PS2?:)

Oh! So you don't like the style. That I can agree with. I hate the styles they have gone with too.
BTN is on the PSX. You can also get it on your PSP or PS3 if you have one via PSN. Otherwise getting a physical copy will be very expensive. Innocent Life is for the PSP originally and then it got an enhanced port to the PS2. You won't miss out on much if you decide you prefer handhelds though.

I like BTN~ Older Harvest Moon games just have more of a backbone. Fuhu~
Also, very strangely, GB has something about it that just strikes a chord with me... I don't generally like it as much as the others, but maybe it is just the feel of it?
Anyways~, as of late, the newer Harvest Moon games just seem to be in some magical world where, everything is dandy and fine~

Ooooh, thats an easy one for me. Harvest Moon DS & DS cute are a dead tie for my favorites. Absolutely adore them for so many reasons - the graphics, the characters, the longevity, and all the stuff to do. Not to mention the child system, and the customization aspect of your farm! (: I never was much for HM console games. IMO, the series does best as a portable one for sure, so even though I like AP and AWL:SE, I could never call them favorites. As for the rest of the portable ones - I love MFoMT and FoMT, but there isn't a lot to do to keep you busy. IoH and SI - ugh. I didn't like the setting or most of the characters, and the graphics were clunky and unappealing. Grand Bazaar was adorable, but a huge letdown in the gameplay department. And ToTT - don't get me started. I hated the towns, the characters, mostly everything. It didn't even feel like HM! D: I think LoB shows huge promise, however. I'm psyched. :D
