I have asked some members here individually and so far have found only one other person who has played one of the games and one who has heared of the series. So I want to ask if there are any other people who played and liked the series and possibly spread the word about these games to those who have never heard about them.

For those of you who don't know the game series is based on the idea of being stranded on the island, with at least one other person. Alongside them you must survive and eventually escape the island. All the games have multiple ways of escaping the island, and several different endings(both good and bad).
You can forage for food and resources, combine items to make tools, cook various foods, hunt, trap, and domesticate animals, along with many other things to improve you way of life and explore the island.
Games Gameboy Color Survival Kids(Called Stranded Kids in EU) - 1999(JP, NA, EU) Survival Kids 2(Only released in Japan) - 2000(JP) Nintendo DS Survival Kids: Lost in Blue(Known as Lost in Blue in NA and EU) - 2005(JP), 2006(NA&EU) Survival Kids: Lost in Blue 2(Known as Lost in Blue 2 in NA and EU) - 2007(JP, NA, EU) Survival Kids: Lost in Blue 3(Known as Lost in Blue 3 in NA and EU) - 2007(JP), 2008(NA), 2009(EU) Wii Survival Kids Wii(Known as Lost in Blue: Shipwrecked! in NA and EU) - 2008(JP, NA, EU)
If you are interested in the series and have any question feel free to ask. I will gladly answer them.

I've heard of the Survival Kids games, but never played them.
I've tried to play the original Lost in Blue, but got turned off because of the micro-management. It WAS promising, but it ended up forcing you to worry more about your health rather than enjoy exploring the island. If only they'd made keeping healthy less of a chore......

well, you can allways *cough* cheat *cough* with infinate fullness/stamina/water/health assuming you have the right cheat cart system for your DS and understand that you will have zero bragging rights once finished on prety much any boards (but you can at least discuss endings, fave things that happened ect) that your save might be wiped (very rare but it can ocasionaly happen) that if you express an opinion and others know you used said cheats, they might not consider it valid BECAUSE you cheated ect...
usualy i finish a game at least once the normal way befor i mess with cheating. becasue that way i at least have had the chance to try it properly. however once im done with it once, i will play for fun. like rez evil on gamecube. finish it once, then play thru with ether infinate hp or infinate ammo ^^ it adds to the life of the game for me. if i was going to only play it once, while i might have traded it in for something else, if i have more fun cheating, it means i keep the game for longer.
just dont cheat on any multiplayer parts (unless its between 2 copies of the same game and your swapping from one of your saves to another, like folks that have gold/silver or similar 2 side version games) multiplayer cheatings bad, very bad. cheating offline isnt so bad casue its yourself that your cheating, not others (my personal opinion by the way lol)

I played Lost in Blue 2. I don't remember which ending I got, but Jack and Amy got married~~ I don't like how the game makes playing as the girl slightly harder though. Pfft, Jack can watch the cave and tree house while I go punch wolves for their fur and meat. Everything gets easier as soon as you're able to make (small) traps. I was never successful in hunting with the bow and arrow or the large traps though.
The event where Jack loses his necklace was really cute, but I have to say my all time favorite part was when I found the hot spring and suggested we go in together. Aw yiss. I actually hated Jack at first since I thought he was a whiny « Mr.Gourmet's hat », buuuut he grew on me. I guess that's what happens when you're stuck on an island with another person for a long time. lol I think I spent an insane amount of time on the island just because I was so slow in getting materials.

I didn't think that being a girl made the game harder in the second Lost in Blue? Then again I always played as Amy so...
I hear playing as a girl is harder in the third game though that the guys can do so much more and the only thing you can do the guys can't is making baskets.
I love Lost in Blue/Survival Kids. Second SK needs a fan translation cause I hear it's pretty epic, and the series needs another game. They could fix a lot of things and make it a lot more fun for everyone. Maybe even give the other chars some AI so you don't constantly have to take care of them 24/7.

Then I gave up and never played it again... To make fire you need to find your first shelter(a cave) and make fire starter by going into the tool making screen selecting to make a fire starter and select to use a twig and a piece of bark(you need yo have them in your inventory in order to select them) to make it. Then once you have a fire starter and another twig approach the old firepit in the cave and press A. You will then have to do a mini game involving the R&L triggers to create an ember using the fire starter. Then blowing into the mix to ignite it. Once a fire is started twigs can be added to it to keep it going. And eventually you get a twig pile you can fill, so that if your partner is in the cave they will keep the fire going while your gone. Thank you, but sadly there is nothing to get me past a certan point... I do get everything I need for the fire, but the minigame kills the mood every time. I was terrible at the L-R pushing (even when it's usually the easiest thing for me to do on other games) and then the blowing... It didn't seem to work... Someone suggested that you have to blow in a different way if I'm not mistaken... and there it stops for me... I can do almost everything at the same time, but when it comes to a simple task like pushing buttons and blowing... Everyone describes it as if it was easy, but I end up doing it wrong... T_T And I also heard that:

I didn't find out about the series before the first DS game came out, Lost in Blue. I have LiB, LiB 2, LiB 3, and the one for the Wii. I really like this series, I often recommend it to people I know that like Harvest Moon as it has kind of a similar vibe.

As for blowing into the DS mic, I'm not sure what is wrong. I never had any problem. I always just blew as hard as I could into the mic to get the fire started, and it always worked in at least two blows. I never heard that you need to do it in a specific way. Are you sure your DS mic is working properly?

Uh, you can get items from the gorilla, one of which is needed for an ending, so you're required to befriend him if you want it. I specifically remember trying to do the imitating mini game, but gave up out of sheer embarrassment.
