Ushi No Tane - Harvest Moon

I was playing as normal when I rode my horse into the race track to practise racing.

Only for some reason it glitched up and my horse vanished from under me. I could keep 'racing' as if I still rode it but then that glitched and it was me running and jumping alone over the racing hurdles. I couldn't leave the track because it still considered me on the horse, but I kept running laps hoping it would let me leave by finishing the race but it didn't.

Obviously I had no choice but to turn my game off and restart.

Has anyone else had this glitch before? I've not turned my game back on yet but I'm hoping it doesn't happen again....
