Ushi No Tane - Harvest Moon

I don't understand all the hate for it. I love this game. Even with the controls. They don't bother me in the least. I haven't played Sunshine Islands, and I'll probably eventually buy it but I'll always love this one. It celebrates 10 years of Harvest Moon! I remember at the time I didn't have a job and my sister bought it for me. I was so excited. I just put in my copy and realized that I have Julia at 10 hearts, almost all the island unlocked, and explorable. I even have the improved pathways in town. I put a lot in this game. Not sure why I never finished it though. Just need to unlock Pierre and I can marry Julia.

Anyone else loves this game?

I particular fancy the storyline over the Sunshine Islands ones. I like that you crash on the island and have to live there rather than just going there.

It was alright actually to me.
I quit playing it for some reaso, like I could not pass it.

I like Island of Happiness, although not as much as you do ^_^.

The only thing I dislike about the game is the how the story goes. WHY AM I THE ONLY ONE THAT CARES ABOUT THIS PLACE?!?! I just feel a bit mad when I think about how I'M THE ONLY ONE THAT'S PAYING TO HAVE THE BRIDGES AND MAKING THE ISLAND A BETTER PLACE!

LOL that is a funny way to put it. I like that it all relies on me though. Everyone else have their own worries.. so I like it being left up to me to save everyone. Someone has to be the hero

I liked it a lot, but SI is still my favourite. IoH got really boring for me after a while. A long one

I really like this game, I just kinda hate the controls. I always hate stylus-mandatory stuff. Even though SI fixed it, I slightly prefer this one. But the gimmick was pretty cool, and <3 that they brought WP back.

What I really liked about this game was the initial challenge of it. Every day felt like a struggle to stay on top of all the farming, fishing, and gathering I was trying to do, not to mention keeping a close eye on my stamina and fullness.

I think the game is cute but I too have control trouble. I have been playing it on and off all week to get use to the controls. I am happy to hear someone loves it.

I hate it. Hate everything about it.

I know that wasn't the answer you were looking for but...I had to. x3

Ok, SI had some improvements and all. But it also had downgrades:

-No mushroom logs (In IoH you could plant 3 kinds of mushrooms using rotten logs)
-Simple heart events (if you compare them with IoH...)
-No sub-villagers (ok, many people hate them, but they make the Island a busy place, And they provide many side stories,)
-There is no "building the island" thing... Things like roads and villager houses are already built or upgraded.

And the sub-villagers won't leave the island if you talk with them at least 1 time per month. That's not hard.

And the main downgrade (at least i don't like it)...

-That bizarre shaped Islands of SI! The island of IoH is prettier³!

This. It's like, Toro is all, "Yup, we're on an island now, tough luck. Now YOU get to spend your hard earned money making this place all shiny and awesome, and if you don't personally befriend everyone, they'll move away. And I'll..... I'll be the weather man."

This game was actually my first HM game, and I loved it so much I became a fan of HM. At the time, the controls didn't bother me at all, but once I started playing other games and went back to it, it was a little frustrating. It's also really long, like the others said. I only got so far before moving on to the next game (unlocked all areas + people, repaired all roads, befriended almost everybody, married Vaughn, and had a baby). I was bored of waiting for my baby to grow up.

There's one thing in IoH I miss: I liked to upgrade the shops and the island. But they being there since the beginning of the game doesn't bother me anyway.
