Whoa, Allen is really different from what I thought he would be. Same for Neil. I thought he'd be a Vaughn clone, but I'm glad that he isn't. It's gonna be a hard decission between those two...

Okay, I originally had a bit of an interest in Allen, but now he just seems cocky. And a bit of a creeper/jerk, too. I'd never date anyone like that in real life - I take things a bit too seriously sometimes, so if someone started trash talking me like that I'd probably kick him, even if he wasn't serious.

But after reading this, I have to admit I'm a little more interested in Neil. For one thing - he's a BASS player! Plus, he seems to develop into a really sweet guy later on.

I'm already liking Tina's personality. She seems like a really fun kind of girl, the type I'd want to have for my best friend in this game.

Allen is a bit disappointing so far. I mean, I like him, but...not crazy about the possessiveness and all of that. But, he's really, really hot.

I'll admit, what you say does ring true for some cases/people, but for me, it doesn't matter. I could know everything I need to know about the game, but it will never be the same once I step into the game itself. The OC I have in mind right now may turn out be a totally different OC about a year from now (date of NA's release is unknown, I'm throwing numbers out there as an example only). So for now, I'll just humor myself by thinking up all sorts of variations to the story I know of so far. ...Yes, I treat this information stuff as a skeleton/template to some roleplay that'll probably never exist outside of my head. xD

The things Allen say will probably sound "possessive" for those who doesn't understand him (heck, I'm sure he doesn't even know he's doing it himself), but I'm pretty sure this is just Allen's self-loving-ego thing he always spouting around about. My bet for his personality, after marriage, will be something like a goofy father/husband spoiling (or suffocating) his child/wife with all the love he can give since all he knew about love was loving himself as a youngster.

Neil, obviously doesn't trust people. Once he's in love (or get married), I'm sure he'll be a bashful/hesitant type, always wanting to help out the family in some way. Neil's past with his own father is what makes him want to be a reliable/dependable person, now that Neil's the head of his very own family (of course).

Now that I reread his lines, Neil actually seems to not trust himself more than not trusting people in general. Maybe he'll get a burst of courage later down in the road.

...Anyway, enough about me speculating stuff that may or may not come true, but I hope that people understand that there's more to a person than just what he/she say or do.

Gah, now I can't decide between Allen and Neil! Allen has such an interesting personality and he seems pretty funny too (glasses are a bonus ) and Neil is cute but he seems a tad boring and more shy then cold. (No offense Neil fans :S) I suppose I have a lot of time to decide between the two.

Hi newbie here~
I joined just to comment on Allen's characterization. I actually wasn't interested in him as a bachelor until I read his dialogues! But I'm still probably not gonna marry my character to him, though that might change... But anyway, he kinda reminds me of Atobe from the anime Prince of Tennis. Anyone know the character? I think they're verrrrrry similar. And in that sense, not unlikable at all, because though both are arrogant ("oresama"), they don't mean any serious harm towards anyone and just have very strong pride in their own achievements and abilities.

As for the possessiveness, I think it's a Japanese culture thing. Quite often in shojo manga/anime, a popular archetype for the male love interest is one that's rather possessive (I wouldn't be surprised if Allen eventually says "omae mo oresama no mono da!" --> "You are also mine!"), and it is a ridiculously popular archetype. So I actually think it was a very smart marketing move by MAQL (more fangirls or perhaps even fanboys lol). And that's my 2cents on Allen. Sorry about the long post ^^;
