Ranger wrote: Anxiety might be it, but I think a lot of it may just be pure egotism. He's really into himself, which is fine (annoying for some, but fine for me; it's funny in media sometimes) but I don't like how he wants to dictate people's lives and have his girlfriend be a personal satellite for him. I mean; maybe some girls are into that, but I value independence.
I don't know. I originally had planned for him to be a pompous « Sheep Squeezer », but I didn't expect him to be controlling. Ah well. There's always Sengoku, Rod, Celka, Amir to check out. I'm already liking Neil, although there is always the possibility his personality/dialogue may drastically change due to translation error. Hopefully not.
For Allen? Depending on what we learn with him, i could be both. I hope it's more than egotism.(if it is, I almost want to get close to him so I can call him "Naru the narcissist!" ROFLMAO XD[cookies to anyone who knows what that's from<3]) and yea, dictating someone else's life is part of an abuser mentality. I really hope he's changed a bit in the translation. Same here. I expected your stereotypical really « lame turnip » male stylist who knows what he's talking about when it comes to fashion and very pompous. Controlling and abusive is *really* weird and doesn't at all fit ^. But, as a metrosexual it's no surprise that wouldn't quite fit him. I'm totally going to read his dialog with that stereotypical '« lame turnip » accent' to make him funny at least. for Neil's cutscenes, is it really that big a deal? It's only a few seconds and unless time continues, so what? Chill out a little Yea, over time it'll get annoying, seeing the same thing so often but is it really worth getting upset over? Not really. Let it flow people. Let it just flow right passed you.*peace*

I don't think Allen is ALL that bad, even though his dialogue is funky... still certainly not my type, seems like at first he's dating you because you would be a nice fashion accessory or something :S But eventually starts to reciprocate more feelings. I don't think he ever loses his ego though. He has a lot of pride so he doesn't want to admit his feelings without acting like he's in charge of the situation. idk. I don't think he's necessarily "abusive" (that would be out of line, as the MC you are technically free to ditch him at any time) or even THAT much of a control freak, he just likes to talk the talk. Doesn't appeal to me personally though, in a relationship I never saw excessive ego-feeding or complimenting as part of the job description :D Cookie for you!(LOL it's not hard to figure out when I *am* Mai ;p) True. and I don't think he's abusive since this is HM. They never have anything like that in their games. He's prolly is a lot like Naru in that sense.(Naru is very full of himself and loves to control the situation. Tha snot ) Ether way, He's not for me. Though I totally want to make a file where I'm Mai and make him my Naru X'3

Nurse Fin wrote: If it helps "humanizing" him at all, in his final heart event you can see a humbled Allen. Probably the only time. Since it's not the dialogue topic and I want to keep spoilers to a minimum, I won't give details here. But he's very self-critical of mistakes, even if it's a tiny one, and doesn't want anyone to know that he's less than perfect. Even if other people forgive him he doesn't let himself off that easily. So anxiety may not be that far off from the truth. I thought so! Maybe not quite so much anxiety but insecurity. Both make people puff their exterior like a frightened animal. He prolly likes controlling situations and people in the hopes of not making more mistakes. This sounds a lot more like HM than an abuser lol.

He is hot. I love his long hair and maturity. Same for me I love how mature he looks and his hair is beautiful. : 3

I'd have to say Rod. I'm not much for fashion sense, but his swim vest...really? And he's not someone I would imagine as a husband...he's kind of young for that.

I'd have to say that my least favorite bachelor is Rod. He's adorable and all, but I just feel as if I've seen a character kind of like him in almost every Harvest Moon game that I've played. I know I haven't played the game yet, but he seems like the optimistic, energetic, happy-go-lucky type, which is not my cup of tea. I actually prefer Sengoku. He seems like he has an interesting story to tell, just going by the brief blurb on the general information thread. Not only that, but I like the option of an older looking bachelor who's still attractive(at least to me ). And it's not as if he's ancient(or Carter ), just a few years older than the regular bachelors. I like Celka as well BECAUSE he seems like a shy, nice guy. It would be fun to see him open up bit by bit as you get to know him. He seems as if he'd make a good husband.
