I'd give this game a 3 tops.
i do not like having to spend millions of money on expansions/carts.
i hate the fact that we no longer have toolboxes, refrigerators and the other things like that.
otherwise i like this game.

I like this game pretty well. It did a lot of things right. I like that you can focus on animals right off the bat. I like that your pets help you out on the farm. I dig the trench system (pun intended). It really makes me happy. I also love the layout of the areas and the graphics. It looks like you're actually living in a place where things grow, not a checkerboard with a spattering of rocks, branches, and weeds.

I do and do not like that you can only upgrade once a season. At first it's not a big deal since you're still figuring stuff out and need time to get the money and supplies together. After you get the hang of it it forces you to pace yourself. Then... after you've played for a while you find yourself outside Eileen's window screaming "Shut up and take my money!"

I also like the request board... but I find most of the requests rather unreasonable. It's fine at first... but most of the things they ask you for are worth a lot more than the reward.

I also don't like how limited the inventory is. It's always a hassle. I wish we could combine like items with different stats in the same stack for an averaged version like in IoH. Things go bad so fast too. It's nearly impossible to have something ready for the cooking contests in the beginning.

The thing I think I hate most is how shops are run. Items should never be random like that. That's just mean. ; ;

I do really like the villagers of both towns. They are very fun people. The bachelors and bachelorettes are all so nice though. I think they lack personalities that make them stand out. Everyone is just 'super duper nice' with the exception of Reina and the Oracle who have a little more personality beyond an accent or dialect.

Overall, I do find it to be a very enjoyable game and I've probably played it the longest of any Harvest Moon.

This is one of my favorite HMs. They've added so many features I've wanted: date events, reverse proposals, pets, jumping, multiple towns, a female mayor and doctor...although I think pets were also in GB (I'm not sure), but this is the first time I've experienced them.

I really enjoy playing this game. I haven't played in a while, so I feel like I can look at it a bit more objectively since the hype has worn down. I would give it 4 stars, though I feel like it deserves a little bit more than that.

I LOVE JUMPING. I'm in my second year and jumping still hasn't gotten old. :)

I gave it a four.

I think the main reason I gave it a four is because of the personalities of the bachelors, bachelorettes, and villagers in this game. I felt like they had NO personalities whatsoever. They all just felt too......sugar coated. Though I loved all of them, that's just me. Otherwise the game was amazing and a great improvement.

I give this game a 4 and not a five cause

1. i miss the fridge, the house just doesn't feel homey without it :(
2. I like have A LOT of livestock and A LOT of space to grow plants & Maybe i"m just not far enough in the game yet, But still, i just don't like having to make a choice between those things

3.I have to go through hell and back just to be able to mine! One of mine bar-none favorite things to do in any HM game T_T

Well you may be disappointed in the Mine - it's totally different from all the other HM 255 level mines. This game is just about making money, like a sequel to Grand Bazaar. I've passed 10 million and just started Spring Yr 5. Still have to upgrade my house and like 7 or 8 more expansions before I can mine. May wait until my char gets pregnant and see all the kid events. But that's not super interesting to me.

The end-game cart looks cool but no bigger than my chicken cart which already keeps everything fresh forever. That's disappointing to me. I don't need to go faster - already run out of things to do. Being able to use both houses would be convenient but by that time, there's nothing left to do.

I'll play for a while longer I'm sure but starting to eye Rune Factory 3. May buy that if I can find it. The next real HM for 3DS is gonna take a loooong time. /sigh

[size=85][size=85][size=85]I gave it a four. Because lots of the ingredients for recipes are hard to find and time goes WAAAAAAY to slow. I mean, I usually go to sleep around 1 PM because I have nothing to do. And some of the requests require A LOT of money, it's fine if it costs a lot, but I still rather have a little bit lower. -.- AND, I hate that you HAVE to save by going to your bed and going to the next day, it really annoys me that you can't save in the middle of the day.. But there are new recipes, alpacas ( ), silkie chickens and suffolk sheep and stuff like that. It has a lot of new fun stuff and I LOVE Ying! She is soooo cute. <3 (The girl in pink holding a panda)

My character:
Name: Ruby
Married to: Cam
Favorite townsfolk: Howard, The Oracle, Georgia, Dirk, Cam, Hiro, Ying, Rahi, Sheng, Eileen, Reina and Kana
Child: Currently pregnant, hoping for a boy
Town: First Bluebell, than Konohana and now Bluebell again.
Has married: All boys and all girls exept for Alissa (Who I am working on on another file)
Time: Year 3, spring 3 (?)

I give it a 4 out of 5.

The cooking festivals are sorta lame, and some characters are just not my style, but I like most everything else.

STATS:

Girl Character; lives in Bluebell
Character Name: Marona (I've noticed that another user of this forum had the same idea as me, but we don't know each other IRL)
Married to Ash
Daughter: Mariko
I have 1 of every type of animal EXCEPT the small dog.

I need to put my point in.

So, my stats:

Date: Summer 22, year 1
Married: Currently, no.
Child: Currently, no
Farm: Konohana
Favorite Candidates: I actually like all of them. They all are pretty interesting characters.
Mayors: Currently at 3 hearts
Tunnel: When I get into Fall, I'm going to have my first one done.

The game has quite a few new additions that I absolutely love:
  • Trenches
  • The ability to leave your house during hurricanes/blizzards
  • The requests give you something to look forward too.
  • Handfishing is great!
  • Male characters can change clothing. Customization for the win.

Some new things are extremely annoying:
  • Stores closing during a full day of rain.
  • The single upgrade per season.
  • Splitting the festivals between the towns, even after the tunnel is complete.
  • The slow starting in the game
  • Two or three items sold in a store per day.

The game is quite fun, initially, until you realize how slow it is in the beginning. You essentially get walked through your first season, which provides a good start-up for the cooking festivals.

I enjoy the game. I know once I get all the less expensive requests done, I'm going to put it down and never play it again because I'll get bored, but I seriously do like it. 4 out of 5

I thought it was fun; I really liked it. The fighting seemed interesting, though the transitions from enemies to friends seemed a bit clunkly and awkward to me. I liked being able to leave your house and take care of your animals during a storm, and the requests gave you something to do asside from foraging and making friends. I liked the ability to wear different things. The cooking festival was alright, but it kinda sucks when you run out of things to use, and i found it a little challanging at times. I absolutely HATE how the stores closed during rainy days, becuase it ment you actually had to get a radio and plan your shopping around the weather. But all in all, it was pretty fun. The character's werent as fleshed out in my opinon, but that's just me.

I really like this game, but there are many pros as well as cons.
I would say 4 out of 5

What I love about this game is the following:
Being able to leave the house in a hurricane or blizzard
Being able to talk to every single person on days of festivals, even though most have to wait until the festival is over
Pets can herd the animals, which is great when you do not have time or you run out of stamina, or on half-days when you are not home in time before it begins raining.
At both farms, you can have a few livestock and crops, with out any upgrades
Dates with the bachelors or bachelorettes.
Being able to choose a female or male
Befriending wild animals
Requests give you something extra to do to also build up friendship with the villagers.
Each Farm has their own upgrade(s), which are not connected to the other farm at all
Ability to take your storage cart with you, via horsecart or chicken cart
Storage has a few upgrades
2 kinds of chickens
2 kinds of cows
2 kinds of sheep
2 kinds of alpaca
Stethescope is good for identifying look alike animals and livestock.
Work in order to get the key for the other farm
Work to get the towns more connected
Work to get the mine access
Outfits, and each backelor or bachelorette likes a different outit
Fish pond and RIce Paddies at one Farm
Bee Hives at another farm
Love the addition of the owl
Cat and Dog Toys
Being able to move back and forth between the two towns

What I do not like:
Only 1 tool upgrade a season
Only 1 Farm Upgrade per season, which might be replaced with a tunnel or bed request instead, when you least want it to
Konohana cannot upgrade the barn at all, and Bluebell can only include 1 field for planting 1 fruit tree
Bag or Rucksack cannot be upgraded at all
Unless you have an expensive and very late in the game cart, food spoils very fast.
No refrigerator
No Tool Box
No shelf
All of those items are things that you do not want to have to take with you all of the time, but since your bag is small
Even when you you have the max amount of storage space available, it will probably have more seeds than anything else in it, which are things that you would probably want to keep at home, unless you are planting them at the other farm
Cannot raise Ducks
TIme passes, even inside of Buildings
Cannot upgrade Fishing Rod, and I do not really need 2 with such limited space
Do not require Bell, which takes up storage space.
Cannot uprade Hammer and axe
Festivals continue to be separate, and you cannot take part in the other towns's festivals even if you have the needed animal or crop.
Cooking Festivals are slow, due to last month's crops are now getting ready to tun bad until you get a good cart, which slows the decay
Cannot impregnate my own animals, and all animals are gone for 2 weeks, even if it probably does not take long that longs for chickens to have a ckick.
No egg incubator
I have to leave my farm and go into town to ship anything and everything.
No Basket, which you or the horse can carry, which only shippable things will go in it. You would still have to pour those items into the bin. Basket no longer exists
Cannot make Bird Feed from Corn anymore
Cannot make Fodder, by cutting grass
Both Bird Feed and Fodder go in Storage.
The horse is treated as nothing more than a pack mule, without a heart meter.
The Horse and Owl you may be inclined not to even feed, because you do not have to, and their food takes up storage space
Shops are closed on all Rainy Days
Each shop has a limited amount of things for sale daily, which is really unrealistic.

I'll give it a 4 out of 5. I really love it but it's not perfect. I don't like the freshness system and going from town to town is a hindrance to me but I deal with it.

-I named my character Jeffry
-Winter Year1
-My farm is in BlueBell and it's called the Hernan Farm
-My favorite marriage candidate is Georgia

My progress is slow since I've been busy with school and reading some book series but it doesn't bother me since I know I'm progressing. My favorite characters are Alisa, Georgia, Cam, Dirk, Howard, the triplets, Gombe, Rahi, Sheng, and Ying. I'm specifically all my favorite characters :lala:

You might be able to upgrade the amount of animals you can have in Konohana eventually. Eileen from Bluebell will occasionally post requests for house upgades on the Bluebell Message Board, and if you talk to her in person, you can arrange for her to apgrade your barn in Konohana. Then you can have more cows and alpacas!

And i have to warn you about the alpacas. they are really weird. They stand in the corner of your barn and quiver, then run away from you as you get closer. But all you have to do is raise the amount of hearts you have with them, and they wil literally bounce around the barn out of happiness. And when you shear the alpaca for it's wool, it takes six whole days for the wool to grow back. It only takes sheep 3 days to grow their wool back. I didn't get the alpacas until Winter 15th in my second year, but this is because that is when i went to Jessica's and saw that they were for sale. They begin to be sold in Fall of your 2nd year.

Enjoy your alpaca friends! You will grow to like them. :P
