Ushi No Tane - Harvest Moon

I've noticed that some people have said that they want a Harvest Moon anime. My question is, would you?

I think that it'd be a tricky but doable idea. The main issue is the romance. They could pull a Clannad and make the protag and one character be Strangled by the Red String so that there wouldn't be any debate as to who they would end up with, as it would be obvious.

They could do it like the Idolm@ster anime and give each character a day in the limelight, and then give the more important ones more than one episode, and then do something more surprising at the end. It could also add some depth to the characters.

It could be a slice-of-life anime a la Lucky Star and Nichijou, or maybe if they chose A Wonderful Life or something it could actually be pretty dramatic.

So what do you think?

I think HM, by it's nature, is just one of those things better left as a game. For that matter, I think almost all games are better off left as games rather than converted into movies or animes. Need I bring up the Super Mario Bros and Street Fight movies? Or conversely, how most movie-based video games kinda stink?

I doubt it. They would have to exicute it to a very high standard for me to enjoy it.

I mean a Moribito Guardian of The Spirit quality, not a Naruto quality junk anime. Moribito had one of the best representations of a old world Japanese village life I've evern seen on an anime to date. PS the link is only available in the US, the entire series is on youtube.

Seeing the anime made off video game trend it wouldn't be very good, even the Valkyria Chronicles anime was butchered badly compared to the games. The anime paved the way for the Sequal VC 2 which was basically High School War game, not a serious story at all when compared to the original.

Could be like Nadesco and have an anime within an anime. Darn those TV channels on the Tele!

If it was done like the Animal Crossing movie then maybe, something cute, sugary and really sweet. If Harvest Moon was ever made into an anime, I'd like for TOT, AP or LoB to be made into one. Those and the older games have a plot (somewhat for the examples I used). I'd like to see it as slice-of-life, or romcom anime, but at the same time I wouldn't want the heroine to pick and just make subtle hints with all the guys and leave it an open ending to who she marries.

Or better yet, what if they don't even feature the main protags from the games and focus on the village? Like why the towns and villages ended up that way in the first place? Although those would be better as an OVA I think.

I think it would be interesting. I would watch it.

But yeah, you don't need it moe~ cutsie-pie dripping with honey kind of stuff. I think it would be interesting just to see like a regular life anime with problems and stuff like that. Like an Avatar-type show. (As in funny, serious, and awesome at the same time. )

It would be easy to make it into a show; you already have the Conflict and Solution laid out for you. You just need to add back stories and voices.

I would watch it, but it could get all over the place, I believe.
Because the different games and such. But if they took only one from it, then it would be alright I think.

Or like Sprinkles said, it could be made like Hetalia, and each game could be featured.

Yes, yes, and YES!!! Except, I hope they bring in a different pair MC each new season, and the MC ends up with one of the marriage candidates. And also, a bunch of adventures like with the WP and HK or HG. Even witchkins! Especially Charlie with Witchkins!! HEHEHEHEEEEE!

I think an anime could work, it just depends on which HM they focus on. Probably the better ones would be IoH and SI, tbh. Or DS/Cute. The characters are varied enough and have their own storylines, plus those play more into the anime-esque style.

But personally, I'd much rather see an RF anime
