Did you/are you importing the game?

I've been wondering if there were people that imported the game instead of waiting for it to come to their country.

So, what are you planning on doing/what did you do?

I must admit that I often think about importing a 3ds and therefore 3ds games, HM Land of Beginning being one of them. I live in Europe and it takes ages until the games I want are released here (if they are released at all). I would import an American 3DS and games from there. I play most of my games in English even though it is not my native language.

Edit: Sorry if that's only about importing from Japan

I would have to pass on this option, because my Japanese is very limited.

They must have steep pockets because the 3ds is region locked, and with this economy importing prices has jumped up higher. They need to buy the system(In Japan, hardware always costs more) and the game as well as ship it. On average that is $13+. If you're in a country with customs, even more.

No,I would just rather wait for it to come to America.It can't take that long can it? yes,it can. >.> It's too expensive to import it and I don't even understand Japanese.

It has the biggest dialog bank of the series. I'm guessing somewhere in 2013.

Any translator worth their salt could finish all the text in 1-2 months, if they're working full time. None of the dialogue is that advanced; if I got paid to translate, I'd work through that text like lightning.
I imagine it's all the other stuff like inserting the text back into the game (maybe, depending on how it's done), or figuring out when stores will have shelf space that makes things go slowly.

I imported mine, but I import most of my games/don't plan on getting a USA 3DS so it's no biggie. I just hope more good games come out for the system, because LoB was the first one that finally pushed me to get one. Well, at least I can play Pokemon White with the special features now. I made the silly decision of buying an American DSi and some of my newer games ended up region blocked -_- Region locks are soooo archaic, ugh.

I don't have ANY 3DS yet, since I'm waiting to find out whether the special Fire Emblem 3DS bundle makes it over here in the NA region. So I'm waiting for that to be determined, and then I'll buy LoB in English. I'm not a big fan of importing games anyways (I would if I knew Japanese I would, but sadly, I don't).

Prices for importing a 3DS have gone down fairly quickly, and I have studied Japanese in the past, so I made a deal with myself that if I studied daily for three months, I could import it in. I figured after three months it would be enough of a habit that I could continue and use LoB as learning material.

We'll see how well that goes. I just don't know if I could stand to wait another year, year and a bit to get LoB. Maybe I'll experiment with some HM games I haven't played...I dunno. Oh, I do have a Japanese DSi, though. I can play Pokemon and understand it, so I do know the basics of the language.

I'm waiting. Even after the price cut, I could only afford a US 3DS. That, and I don't really understand Japanese, anyway. XP

Yeah that's what I mean. Text reinsertion and placement is really difficult, and our localizaitons love to mess up gender placement. There's also the famous times when we remove naming quirks like marital nicknames and stuff like that.

Some games just take too long to reach Australia so I'll be importing both game and console from USA, when it's released there.

From my information, ToTT isn't even on our shelves yet, haha. orz

I can't read Japanese and I don't have a Japanese 3DS, so I'm waiting for the English version of the game.

Its cheaper and I don't really import stuff
