im not a critic and USUALLY watch most animes. if they were to to this though, i would say that the layout be this:

-every season focuses on one of the games

-goes off of the plot (which means non of those without a plot)

-is mostly [insert genre here]/romance, with romance being SECOND (AKA, it doesn't focus on just romance)

-has multiple season endings for each marriage.

-is split in halves where the focuses on both the boy character and the girl character.

-non crappy voices and animation please

thats just me tho... what do you think? oooh oooh and maybe they could have a little rune factory clip at the end!

I'm not sure about an anime with multiple seasons, mainly because I'm simply not sure if there is enough sustenance from the games to work into a series without mountains of filler. A short anime with less than forty episodes could probably work well enough, regardless. Perhaps animated shorts would work best, though, maybe revolving around the main characters and their love interests (I'm thinking something along the lines of the Kid Icarus Uprising shorts Nintendo released on Nintendo Video, but with the shorts released on the Internet instead).

I think I would watch it just to see how it was, but like everyone else said, I wouldn't have high expectations for it. I'd mostly be watching to see how they made the characters look honestly.

I do agree that I think RF for make a better anime than HM though. At least it would have more of a plot imo

I think rather than base it on the plot of one of the games, I'd prefer for them to go the Sonic Sat AM route and use some of the more popular characters (probably the MT cast) and make up a whole new plot for it. After all, the plots for the games have already been used. In the games. Which are already out. And can be played. If they base the plot of an anime off the plot of a game, there are no surprises for the people watching who have played the game.

I think a slice of life anime is probably best for this sort of thing. It could star Pete and Claire as siblings who leave the hectic city life behind to start anew on a farm they inherited from their grandfather. (See what I did there? Huh? Huh? See what I did? :D /hit) Romance is unnecessary. Sure, it's one of the more popular features of the game, but a lot of fans of the series will get pissed that their favorite candidate didn't get chosen as the love interest in the anime. Best to just leave it out. I know making it a harem anime is an option, but... no. Just... no.

Another option is to make it a story with an environmental theme, but that can be added to any genre, and environmental messages tend to get a bit Anvilicious.

So, a slice of life anime with no romance and a subtle environmental theme would be best. And that's almost certainly not what they would come up with.

i like this idea. ALTHOUGH i still want the romance part. because harvest moon isn't the same without it. it can either be a harem (in which, don't get me wrong, i enjoy, but there are too many out there)
OR
it can be like my idea:
while she/he doesn't interact with all of them at once, they could have diffo eppis staring diffo bachelor/ettes! and, when it comes to marriage, there can be different ENDINGs in the show. like with save the homeland/hero of leaf valley. there was diffo endings with that, right? why not in the show as well? that way, all those who want romance are happy, all those who have favorite marriage candidates are statisfied, and all those who watch don't have to put up with fights about it.

Having a bunch of different endings only works in a video game. In an anime, it'll cause Ending Fatigue.

There have been Harvest Moon games without romance. Okay, there's been one Harvest Moon game without romance, and that was a spin-off. It's possible for them to make an anime without it and still keep the fans happy.

I must have told this story at least 5 times already, but I'll say it again: Once I had a dream where Another Wonderful Life and Rune Factory 1 were made into an anime. If I remember correctly, the ANWL one was more or less about Jill working on the farm...no, it wasn't a very long dream. XD
I wouldn't mind a HM anime. Although I think RF would work better in terms of plot.
