Failed dishes...?

Some recipes from the website aren't working... it's strange because they make sense and I'm sure I'm putting the correct ingredients...

Like for now, I just got a failed dish from trying to make a mixed juice (my ingredients: banana + peach + seasoning)
Maybe is there something wrong with banana and peach together? >.<

The other recipe that went wrong the other day was the pancake one... I could only try once because I got some butter as a gift because I completed a request quickly...

Did anyone else had these experiences too? Or maybe am I being dumb somehow?

I've seen elsewhere in the forums that if you don't choose the utensil (pot/seasoning/pan/etc) first and THEN choose the ingrediants it turns into a failed dish.

Not sure about the pancake one but with mixed juice you should have 3 total ingredients plus the seasoning. The recipe says

. So you need to add one more ingredient besides the banana and peach.

I've had this problem too, and I believe the recipes require you add the ingredients in a specific order.
For example... for the mixed juice, I believe they need you to add the spice rack either first or last, and then make the banana the first ingredient.
And for the pancake... I think you need to put it in exactly this order. Egg, Milk, Flour, Butter, Choice of Honey.
I think they want you to always put the utensil first or last and any additional ingredients as the last ingredients. The same thing happened for me with soybean soup, and when I put it in the exact order they say, with the same ingredients that failed me last time, I made the soup.

If the ingredients were rare/expensive - reload! Otherwise, save the failed dishes for Mako's requests. Also Hiro has one that requires 99 failed dishes. So they're not totally useless failures!

This cooking system is very unforgiving and strict and most things sell for less than the ingredients so make it once for the "list" and never make it again.

I've also had problems with the ones that have plums. It was one of the [fruit] + [any two of the following fruit: ______] kind of things where they had a plum. Tried using a plum as one of the fruits and it wouldn't work. Kept reloading and trying other fruits (with this plum) and it never worked. Then when I did a different ingredient beside the plum, it worked. I want to say it was fruit shiratima, but I don't know which one.

I came across a few desert recipes that didn`t work according to the recipe i found here on the site. Both used ingredients you need the flour mill to get.

Sweet Dumplings -
Seasoning Set + Shiratama Flour + Soy Flour + Apricot
and
3 Color Dumplings
Pot + Shiratama Flour + Strawberry + Summer Tea Leaves

I think they were posted with the wrong utiensel. The recipes above are the corrected versions that worked in my game.

btw I`m working on a printable recipe list for the game. When I`m done I think I`ll post it on GameFAQS.

I finished my cooking list using Cher's list but then I didn't actually cook some of the ones I discovered (you get credit anyway).

The ones with same ingredients definitely needs to be made in the exact order listed.

I just got the watermill, and also, I didn't live enough in Bluebell to get the makershed yet... so I've got a LOT of recipes to make... which makes me happy because I like this part of the game

I'll take Bad Kitty's tips about the recipes that takes shiratama flour, because I'll start using this ingredient now.. ^-^
