I'm gonna be doing a garden experiment this season, too. Got some 'Maiz Morado' (a purple/black corn that is good for fresh eating if picked young) and it's got a very LONG season (120 to 150 days!) I'm going to have to start it in containers inside a greenhouse, because our season simply isn't warm enough for long enough. This is a beast of a plant! They grow 8 feet tall MINIMUM. I'm looking forward to trying though. Even if it doesn't work out, I'd like to be surrounded by ridiculously huge corn stalks for a while :)
