The Ushi No Tane websites specialize in information, FAQs, and guides about the Nintendo console versions of the Harvest Moon, Story of Seasons, and Legend of the River King video games. These game genres are created and published in Japan by Marvelous (JP). In other regions, you'll find Natsume, XSeed Games/Marvelous (USA), Marvelous (EU), and Rising Star involved in the series' release.
The latest version of the mainstream farming series that have been released in various regions of the world are:
The latest version of River King, in all regions of the world, is River King: Mystic Valley (JP 2007, NA 2008, EU 2009).
Since 2000, Ushi no Tane has been run by a grouchy old lady who happens to be fond of video game agriculture along with two feline helpers: Intern Captain Bootu and Intern Hondo Mewnaka. The website is not officially affiliated, sponsored, endorsed, or employed by the developers of Harvest Moon, Story of Seasons, or River King. This is simply a fan site.
It's spring! Time for all farmers to start preparing their vegetable garden. Looks like we're going to try growing Snap Peas and Zucchini again this year.
Land of Beginning has almost reached 150,000 copies sold since its February 23rd release in Japan. It's now sold more than AWL, Animal March, Harvest Moon DS, and countless other versions of the series. It hasn't outsold Sunshine Islands or Island of Happiness though. With as popular as the game is, perhaps we'll hear about English release information around June, when this year's E3 will occur. The game is huge text-wise, so I wouldn't expect a North American release date this year.
Normally the giant animals that appear when using the Nintendo Network wifi system are cows, alpaca, and sheep, but it was such a strange occurence to see a chick that I had to take a picture of it :)
MAQL is still working on releasing information on Rune Factory 4. Famitsu added an article about a new marriage candidate named Dolce, who was some sort of marionette monster before she changes to a humanoid.
