Latest Farming Video Game News

Happy farm'n Friday! Oh boy, it became cold outside really quickly! Last weekend was lovely and warm, but this weekend's temperatures are in the low 50°F (~10°C). The tropical office poinsettia is now inside Fogu HQ, along with the two pots of succulents from outside on the front porch. Soon it will be time to cut back the iris plants and dig up the dahlia tubers for winter. There was a disappointing number of dahlia blooms this year, with some plants never developing flower blooms. I guess my soil still isn't quite right! The dahlia bed soil has been worked enough that it isn't hard clay like the rest of the terraces in the front yard, but there is still something amiss if the plants are not growing properly.

For this week's Rune Factory 4 progress report, I guess I beat the game? I rescued the last Guardian, restored Ventuswill to full health, and saw the ending credits. I'm still playing the game, but nothing else is going on. It's almost Fall of year 1, and the farm has a few monsters producing some shippable goods, still needs one more cooking utensil to complete the kitchen, and there are many recipes left to collect. There has to be more to it... hmm...

New Farm'n Kickstarter

A farming game Kickstarter that ends in 5 days, Sun Haven is a fantasy RPG developed by Pixil Sprout Studios for Steam (and possibly Nintendo Switch) that gives the player the responsibility of revitalizing the little human town.

Players can produce crops and care for animals on their farm, complete quests, go fishing and mining, grant wishes, and use magic to rebuild Sun Haven. There are 7 player races to pick from (human, demon, animal, angel, elf, naga, and elemental), and 16 available marriage candidates. And this doesn't have all be done alone! The game has multiplayer support with up to 8 other players.

The game's crowdfunding goal has been met and is now working towards stretch goals. You can learn more about this little fantasy on the official Kickstarter page:
