Marv JP SoS:AWL Sharing Guidelines, New Farm'n Game Drago Noka, and Indie Farm'n Game Updates | Posted at 03:15 PM 13 January 2023

Happy Farm'n Friday! We have a little more progress with making a dedicated room for my office work and video game farming activities. We've been shuffling furniture between three rooms while the flooring crew completes each area, and we are finally at the last room. Unfortunately, the general contractor didn't order enough flooring. Oopsydaisy! At least there is flooring installed in most of the house. Soon I hope to finally have my own space to play loud Christmas music year-round and display my Story of Seasons and Harvest Moon plushie collection. Super cool!

We have 2 weeks left to wait for the Japan release of Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life on January 26. Marvelous released specific guidelines today for sharing videos and images of the game. Marvelous Japan wants farming fans in its region to make sure to clearly mark something as a SPOILER if it is as such (to not potentially ruin the game experience for others) and ensure that any sharable media captured from their game is done on the most recent updated version of the game (i.e., have all available patches applied). Anyone with an advanced copy of the game can only share content with the permission of Marvelous JP until the game's official release. Marv also does not want shared content behind a paywall, but Youtube monetization (like Let's Plays) and the like are okay.

The official @StoryofSeasons Twitter account revealed the last official English marriage candidate name this week. Formerly scraggly-bearded Gustafa will be named... Gustafa!

To recap, the official EN marriage candidate names are:

New Farm'n Game - Drago Noka

Freshly released yesterday, Drago Noka puts players into a farm and village-building environment on the back of a dragon, one of many such beasts that wander the world.

The amnesiac protagonist is tasked with helping rebuild the rundown village located on the back of the Grand Tortoise dragon to entice people to move there permanently. Each new resident comes with knowledge and experience in various tasks and can also do village work for the player. Farmers can design their village to grow crops, raise animals, explore underground mines, craft and sew, go fishing, and even do a bit of metal forging.

The world outside the dragon's influence isn't as peaceful as the little village. Other large beasts wander the world, and players may have to command their mighty farm dragon to battle against any threats against their turnips. Powering up the tortoise is done by feeding it food and building weapons to attach to its back. Not everything is so violent; some world dragons can be useful to wander close to. For example, according to Famitsu's review, getting close to the water dragon's influence will cause crop-watering rain to fall on the Grand Tortoise.

This game costs about $20 and is available on Steam/PC and Nintendo Switch. There is a FREE demo available on the Steam store page if you want to check it out:

Indie Farm'n Game Updates

This week, a new wizard-themed farming and life simulation game launched its crowdfunding campaign. Aether: Wizard Life puts the player in the role of a freshly graduated wizard with a new job lined up in the Starfall Kingdom.

Players will help the local villagers with their lives, along with discovering the lost history of Starfall while working towards their archmage status. They'll mix potions, grow crops and herbs, raise farm animals, cook meals, catch fish, and fight monsters while exploring Starfall and its neighboring regions. There's a little bit of romance in there too.

This game plans to have a unique zodiac sign system. The star sign chosen during character creation will affect the protagonist. Examples given are those with an Aquarius zodiac sign will get a water magic boost during rain, and Leos will be luckier during the summer season.

The campaign has met about a quarter of its funding goal after launching 5 days ago. You can learn more about this 2D sidescrolling game on the Kickstarter website:

The team behind Lucid Tale's sky sailing farming game Sally will start working on their game full-time starting in March. In the meantime, the team will be transitioning Sally from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5 and streamlining their animation tools.

Skyreach Studios will be launching a supplemental Kickstarter campaign for plushies based on their Critter Crops farming game. Their Halloween-themed merchandise campaign will launch on February 1.

My Time at Sandrock launched a multiplayer open beta today that lasts until January 20. Farmers who have the early access game can now try out a preview of the multiplayer functionality in Sandrock; however, Pathea wants to remind participants that it is a beta, there may be hiccups here and there, and some things may change in the future based on the feedback players give during the multiplayer open beta.

Until next time!
