Mining
Before you can do any mining you'll need a Hammer. The first thing you need to do is gain access to Carmite cave, and then till at least 50 squares of soil in the cave. Afterwards, go talk to Leo the Blacksmith. He'll reward you with a Cheap Hammer.
The next thing to do is just head into a cave and whack away at the boulders you'll see scattered around. After 2 hits you'll uncover an ore you can sell. If you leave the cave and return, all of the rocks will reset so you can smash them up again.
The level of ore and gems you find are random. If you charge up your hammer you'll have a better chance of finding the rarer ores and gems found in the cave, but you always have a chance of getting a rarer ones without charging.
As you increase your Mining Skill you'll use less Rune Points to break open the rocks, and you have a better chance of finding really high leveled ores and gems. The items you do find can be given as gifts or used in crafting Weapons and Accessories.
