Pierre is inside his house deciding what to cook for the day when Karen comes by for a visit. She asks if he is a Gourmet, and tells him that they have a Gourmet in Mineral Town in Mineral Town. Karen can tell from the size of his stomach that he loves food!
The reason for Karen's visit is her cooking skills. She admits to being a terrible cook and is hoping that Pierre could give her some pointers. Karen is too embarrassed to ask for help back in Mineral Town. Pierre doesn't have any problems teaching her and the two of them get started.
Once they've finished, Karen offers Pierre a chance to taste her creation. Pierre gives it a taste but his is puzzled; even after taught her how to make these recipes step-by-step, they still taste horrible! Pierre figures she must be some sort of genius for making an egg taste so bad! Karen is angered by his comments, and blames Pierre by suggesting that he is a terrible teacher.
