You and Taro are talking about your ranch when Trent stops by. Before he left Mineral Town on vacation, the town mayor mentioned that he knew a "Taro" who lived on the islands. Taro claims he doesn't know anyone who is a town mayor, but Trent has a letter for Taro from his town mayor.
Taro reads the letter, and realizes that he does know Dr.Trent's mayor. The old man tells the story about when he use to run a ranch when a stranger approached his house. The poor fellow had been traveling across the country and had run out of money, so Taro let him stay the night at his ranch and gave him some food. He recalls that the stranger's name was Thomas.
Dr. Trent is amazed that Taro knows his Mayor Thomas. The former farmer asks Trent to give his regards to Thomas when he returns to Mineral Town.
