Kevin
Kevin is the son of Claire and Wilbur, and likes to spend his time playing outside. You can often find him at the bridge in Zephyr Town, by the tree outside of your farm, or behind Angelo's house. The only other kids to play with in Zephyr Town are Lauren and Cindy, so you may see the three kids together by your farm.
Kevin likes to play practical jokes on his mother and other people around him. Perhaps he is really telling everyone he wants attention? Either way, his jokes don't amuse his mother and so he is often scolded. He may always tell her that he's "sorry", but he just goes back to causing michief.

An angry mom is scary!

Kevin is apparently up to something again, as you walk in to hear Claire yelling at her child about something he did to her best bed sheets. Kevin says he made them into ghost costumes! He challenges his mom to try and catch him, and the two go around and around the table. At least until Claire figures out that if she stands in place, Kevin will eventually run into her on his way around.
Once he gets caught, Kevin claims that he was just kidding around; he is just a kid after all. Claire asks him why he purposely tries to be a pest. Today it was the bed sheets in the rain, and yesterday it was drawing moustaches on all the pictures in his father's encyclopedia. He even broke a light bulb when swinging a fishing pole indoors! She continues to scold her child and it doesn't look like she's going to let up anytime soon.

The carpenter family is getting ready to sit down and eat dinner when Nellie comes over for a visit. Nellie made too much food for her family's dinner and has come to share some of the extra food. Nellie gives Claire the excess gratin she had made and Kevin, Wilbur, and Claire thank her for her generosity.

Kevin sneaks up behind his mom and places an insect on her back. This scares Claire, and she threatens her son with discipline. Kevin isn't afraid of his mom though, but he is afraid of his dad! When Wilbur shows up and demands what his son did to his wife, Kevin says he was just playing a little joke on her. Wilbur's idea of discipline is by giving Kevin a "wet willy", and so now Kevin is on the receiving end of a joke.
Kevin realizes the joke wasn't very funny, and he apologizes to Claire.
