The Vita is definitely my otome console, so I'm not giving it up until they completely stop bringing games out for it...JUST got Collar X Malice and it was great. Expecting Bad Apple Wars soon (though I'm not very interested) and I think the Code Realize Future Blessings or Rainbow fandisc thing. 7'scarlet too, next year, which I'm interested in, and Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly and Psychedelica of the Ashen Hawk . I think I want them all, at this point, so my Vita is still pretty ensconced. Just bought a new grip for it...and still have to get around to playing Exist Archive. For me, Vita's not at all dead, even though I realize for others it's down to an uninteresting trickle.
I feel like 3DS will do a similar thing...it'll keep getting games for years after this, just not very many, and largely not the big names. (I'm not sure how Nintendo can say they're supporting the 3DS if they're bringing all the big name game series to Switch already.) Whether any of those will be of interest depends on which companies still want to put out games for it rather than Switch. Honestly, Switch is a physically rather awkward handheld (does everyone here already have one?). It's great if you're full-out lounging at home, but for something like sitting on the bus, I find it horribly uncomfortable....it's too big and not that easy to hold onto, imo, I get cramped up with hand and neck pain pretty quick. And the battery life is pretty awful in handheld mode. So I feel like it has a fair way to go before I'll be comfortable using it in place of my 3DS, though I love that I can change back and forth from a screen to handheld if either start to get uncomfortable.
Miiverse has never been very popular, though. Those who use it, love it, but I know people who don't even know what that icon of the three little people is FOR. That's probably why they're phasing it out now that the Switch is getting more widespread and it has a really smooth sharing feature. I mean, if you're in full event-capture mode, you can even attach a keyboard and add in all the text you want in total comfort. It's pretty great on the sharing front, imo.
