^Luckily the f potion is about 5-6 hours, but I could be remembering it wrong. It is definitely the best part of Graces; I enjoyed it more than the main game.

Done Tales of Graces f! Well...done 'Tales of Graces'...haven't actually played the 'f' part. Not sure if I'll bother or not, though I've heard it's the strongest part of the game since it was written by a different team. The main story is...childish, imo. Everything is attributed to the power of belief, or the power of friendship, or just having strong enough emotions and shouting them at people loudly enough. Which is very poor storytelling, imo. I liked some bits, but overall...definitely the worst Tales game I've ever played, though I've only played 5 other Tales games before.

That's another + for the pile, anyway. I'll decide whether I want to see the 'f' portion later. :) I'm not going to try to complete any other games before LDC.

Finally reached Act 2 of Dragon Age 2 today. I took a slight break last night and played West of Loathing since I got bored of DA2 again; Act 1 is such a drag as it just builds up stuff to happen later in DA2. I stopped playing West of Loathing again last night as I got stuck; enemies got too powerful and Alice needs some kind of boost in defense and strength to be more useful.

Spoiler:
Haven't seen a play, yet, so either it is still to come, or I missed it. As for Pascal...Everyone seems to like her, but I find her the most consistenly annoying of all the regular party members, lol, so she's not providing a bright spot for me. I actually put the 'water goggles' on her so that her dumbo personality wouldn't annoy me as much. (PS: It works. She looks so doofy in those goggles that her doofy personality just seems right, now. I also put a watermelon on top of another character's head so that the constant deadpan expression seemed more comical. This is a game where I actually LIKE all the ridiculous-looking attachments because it makes fun of the characters FOR me and I can just kind of let it pass by, lol.)

Though the annoyance Pascal causes me does not compare to the rant-inducing feelings I get from Asbel's actions/decisions regarding the bad guy, lol. This game doesn't have one of those headbands that make it look like an arrow has been shot through your head, but if it did, I'd be thrilled to put it on Asbel.

Honestly, if they had condensed this game into half the length, and made the all of the character's emotions/motivations seem less like they belonged to small children, it'd be a pretty decent game. I do at least like a bunch of the locations, and I don't mind exploring to pick up chests and stuff...except in maze-like locations.

Not 100% sure I can finish this game up before LDC because each chapter is proving to be painfully long, and I have some RL things I've got to get done, too, lol (darn RL!) but I'm giving it a go. I just got to Chapter 5, so I think it's doable. But holy, I have never played a Tales games with THIS many skits and extra scenes. I swear I'm getting one every five minutes.

Good luck, Bluie. :)

EDIT: I normally never skip cut scenes because if you do, you end up a bit lost, not sure what is going on. Sad thing? You can skip practically ALL the cut scenes in Graces and it makes no difference! Every cut scene seems to mostly just rehash things we already know, where the characters talk about their feelings again (which are the same as they've always been) and they restate what they need to do (also the same as it's always been!) It's nuts, lol. Looks like I can skip cutscenes with abandon. That should speed things up quite a bit... (Yep! I think I'm in Ch 6 now.)

I picked up AA: Spirit of Justice again; I was right, I stopped at the start of the Ch5 and I just LOVE TRUCY HAHA THIS GIRL

Spoiler:
joking around with "Dad" Dhurke hahaha. But if you think about, they are family! What with her being half-siblings with Apollo! She has two dads now  I also love how she's so open-minded about the whole rebel thing with Dhurke. Bride material indeed (just not with Apollo p l s).

I did this too!! I'd really like to do a 2nd playthrough sometime with him. Not sure if you've picked your horse yet, but I'm curious which you picked/will pick lol

I picked the spectral horse.

Honestly, the best thing about Graces is the snow white play, Pascal, and the gag weapons. It was a big swing and miss for me (as was Hearts). If it ever gets a port to something I own, i'll probably skip it. I love them to port the older PS2 titles like Rebirth and Destiny DC down the line, because heck, I wana play THOSE Tales games.

Welp, seems like my goal rn is to finish Okami before Little Dragons Cafe comes out. I don't think i'll have time to squeeze in anything else before then. Wish me luck, guys!

Graces feels a little like they have 3 or 4 chapters worth of good story...but the game is 8 chapters long. :/ I can't really say I'm particularly attached to any of the characters either, though I don't particularly dislike many of them. But indifference is nothing to be proud of.

I love Yu Liberte, though...I want to visit a place that looks like that IRL. I kept thinking I had already played this part and just forgotten, but after a while I realized that I was thinking of Fantasy Life, specifically the part with Port Puerto and the desert on the way to Al Maajik.

I'm gonna finish this game, darn it. It's gonna be finished whether it likes it or not...

I too had issues keeping interested in Tales of Graces F. I don't even remember what I was doing, but it was part way through chapter 7 I put the game down years ago.

Having trouble deciding what to play right now. I only have 60+ games if we don't apply the backlog blitz to choose from lol. Guess I will go with P3P for today!

I got burnt out on Graces at around chapter 5-6 I think, and ended up dropping it a long time ago. I really disliked almost all of the characters in the game, so it wasn't a huge loss, but I was upset a bit because I paid full price for the game when I really should have waited lol

Tales of Graces f: ...is this the longest game ever, or what? I feel like I took a decade to finish Chapter 3. If anyone else played this, I need an idea of progression...about what level should you be at, at the game's finish? I'd like to ignore most side stuff and just progress the story, but I don't want to neglect levelling so much that it becomes difficult to continue.

Having a hard time sympathizing with the story's villain, atm. I just want them to make with the stabbity-stab already. Yep, I'm a terrible person.

I was roughly in the high 50s lower 60s by the end game. Graces did feel like it took forever for me as well.

I finished the prologue of West of Loathing and I find it pretty funny so far. I went with the doctor for my companion and I'm the melee class simply because the description made me laugh. I'm still working on Act 1 of my 6th DA2 file, but I have a feeling I can that today and be 1/4 done with the game.

You are playing exactly the same class with the same companion as I did. She's so great lol

Sorry to hear about the transfer bug! So far season 3 fills like filler; it's hardly referenced in season 4. Heck, the first few minutes pretty much tell you what happens in season 1 and 2, but leave out a LOT of season 3 with only one real choice applying from season 3.

I so want to do the real ending myself, but the grinding is so repetitive and boring that I'm tempted to look it up myself even though I find the first part pretty easy; I just need to grind everyone else up to a respectable level.

Still only have Life is Strange coming in September, and that's paid for already. Next game I'll have to buy after LDC is Mario Party. I did wind up preordering the Dancing Persona games for PS4. Can't wait for that, but I hate that Smash is 3 days after Persona comes out.

I'm now about 2/3 done with Okami! I can definitely finish this up before LDC. Afterward I'm going back to DA2 to try and finish up that file. I doubt I will, but it doesn't hurt to try.

Thanks for the TWD info!! I think I'm just gonna wait until all of it is out and on sale, then maybe my husband and I can marathon it through for fun lol. I don't mind episodic games but I tend to like waiting for them to finish completely before I get into it (I get so damn impatient lol)

Congrats on beating Okami! I loved it when I played it back on the PS2. Hope you enjoy West of Loathing, such a funny and quirky little game; one of my favorites I've played this year so far.

I did exactly that for the ending, Rope, and while I felt a little guilty, I would 100% do it again

I'm glad there's others besides me who can't be bothered to grind up to finish the "real" ending lol. The backlog waits for no one, already put like 70 hours into it and have to move onto other stuff.

Finished both Octopath and Unavowed! I really enjoyed Unavowed, and it had some pretty damn amazing plot twists. It's very Bioware-esque for a point and click (which is what they were aiming for) and I actually think I'd like to go back and replay sometime with different characters and choices. Great game!

Octopath was good, but there are some things I'd like to see fixed for a potential sequel (which I'm assuming they will do eventually). Alfyn and Hannit's stories were by far my favorite.

With a week until LDC, I think I'm actually going to try and finish up Trails 3rd since I'm already a good 8 hours into it and howlongtobeat says the main story is around 33 hours, so pretty doable if I keep on top of it. I have:

Yakuza 0
Trails 3rd
Vampyr (waiting on patch)
PoE2 (waiting on DLC and patches to be content complete, probably won't even start until next year so I don't really count it in the backlog atm)

Since Spyro Reignited Trilogy got delayed until November, my September has kind of calmed down (428 and Torna are gonna be my main gets) so I actually might be able to finish my backlog by November at this rate.
