Re: Backlog 2022

I beat act 4 of Titan Quest the other day, which was a relief, as it was so buggy and unpleasant the last time I played I was worried I wouldn't finish it. I was surprised to find the "gambling man" (my partner's favorite feature) in the Atlantis act, as I thought Nintendo was pretty stric...

Re: Doraemon Story of Seasons Sequel

Yes! I really liked the first, and wasn't expecting a sequel at all! I'm glad it did well enough to warrant it. I don't see folks chatting about the first game very often, but maybe it'll get a little more buzz now that they've announced a sequel.

Re: New and tentative game announcements (V2)

I don't think I've ever been happier with any game presentation. It's like they called me and asked what I wanted to play. I loved the first Doraemon SoS game, I know a lot of folks passed due to the lack of marriage system, but the story and social elements were really good, and I loved the gadgets...

Re: What Game(s) Would You Want to See Remade?

Alas, we discussed Chrono Cross upthread and spoke that into being, but not Threads of Fate. XD

Still hoping for news about a new SOS/HM remake soon. Maybe once they finish porting PoOT.

Re: Backlog 2022

Well, am playing nirvanA Initiative, and while I think the STORY is going to be very interesting, rather than toning the moronic pervert jokes DOWN in this sequel, they've actually ramped them up. Ugh, that's so disappointing. I'm waiting a minute to play this to avoid burnout, and I was really hop...

Re: What kind of candidates do you want in RF6?

I would love candidates with more ambiguous ages, so I could at least pretend they were in their 20s. Candidates with real jobs would be great! I couldn't get behind the apprentices with all the comments about their personal journey and maturity level in RF5. Priscilla and Lucy somewhat fell into th...

Re: Months later, what are your thoughts on RF5?

I think I would have liked it a lot more if I hadn't played RF4S to death a year ago. I like the few new things it adds to the formula (the starfall crops, the new event system), and I still really like the town vibe that RF does best. I also enjoyed the difficulty, in that I loathed Rune Prahna and...

Re: Backlog 2022

Whoo, finally beat the story mode of RF5! A huge relief. I can see myself playing this for a couple more weeks, I'll probably finish the marriage stuff, the Turnip Heaven requests, and maybe do some Rigbarth Maze. I had decent equipment to finish the game (1k fists), but most of the upper-level gear...

Re: Backlog 2022

I feel a little bad for disliking RF5 at the endgame, as I suspect I’d love it a lot more if I hadn’t completed most of the content in RF4S just a year ago. But the town events are a litany of nothing at this point… sometimes amusing, but mostly just reinforcing the same generic tropes and not build...

Re: Backlog 2022

@simside: Hope you get feeling better soon! Is there a 'comfort food' sort of game would help you relax/feel a little better? Pokemon's pretty good for that, at least. Thank you! I keep getting sick this year, unfortunately. Luckily I can still go to work, but it steals my energy for anything else....

Re: New and tentative game announcements (V2)

I am another big P3P enjoyer - P3 is one of my favorites of all time, and I would buy a whole « Mr.Gourmet's hat » PS5 if they remade it. FES is the version I played over and over and would be my default port hope, but P3P is better. I think I only played through the Aegis epilogue in FES once, it f...

Re: Backlog 2022

I am sorry your mother has been so unwell, Harvest Moon kawaii, I hope she gets well soon. --- I have been a mood to play a different game lately, though I know starting a new game won't actually scratch that itch. It's probably a symptom of playing too many long games this year. I did beat Asha in ...

Re: Rune Factory 5 Q & A

I have a tip for those who want to win the squid catch festival. You can go outside of town! You aren’t forced to stay in Rigbarth for the contest. So, go to the bandit king’s old base 3rd floor and go backwards until you find the pond. That pond only houses squid so there is no worries about catch...

Re: Backlog 2022

I started Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World this week. This game has a worse rep than the other Monster World etc remakes, as it is very linear. I have to say, the difference between this and Dragon's Trap was pretty minimal for me. Which is to say, I like both of them, but they are both remakes of ...

Re: What makes a great HM/SoS cast?

This is a good question! I've been thinking about it a lot while playing RF5, as I don't like the characters quite as much, and I can't quite put my finger on why. Some other folks have touched on the same points as me, but I can't think of how to say some of this very concisely. ^_^; I usually like...
