His pose and expression in that screenshot suggests a typical boyish personality.
My summary of important points:
-Azel and Sonia are somehow transmitted into a parallel world by an accident;
-In this world, they have to share a body;
-(Not in Famitsu.com, based on other reports of the magazine article) when Azel gets too close to other girls, Sonia will feel jealous, and vice versa.
There are some huge implications... I'll just point out one thing: Rune Factory's old plot device of keeping the protagonist and the player on even footing is to make the protagonist an amnesia, essentially a blank state. Now they are using the OTHER time-honored plot device, sending Azel and Sonia to a parallel world. I suppose this way they don't have to be amnesia, and can have a more fleshed out personality.
Wait Wait WAIT!!. They share the same body?? O_o and came from parallel world(s) ? I wonder if they came from the same world and knew each other before the game or not. Also I am wondering what will happen to the other protagonist after you choose. Will they go back to their own world?
This game seems to use in game models as portraits as opposed to art like its predecessors.I'll miss the art portraits
So we get to control Ymir and fight gigantic sea monsters. :O
too bad that this game don't have portraits. but sometime some version [wii or ps3] will has differrent about graphic .
I wish this game will use 2d portraits. It's much better than models.
I kind of disappointed to know that the protagonists share one body. Yes, the design and the clothes are different from each other, but it still bother me a little.
I was expecting that we can control two different person, and they are meant to be main bachelor/ette (you can still woo and marry the other boy/girl too). At one point we have to choose one of them because one is kidnapped by the enemies, and we control the other protagonist to rescue him/her (which is no longer playable after this point). Or, may be one of them sacrifice him/herself and the other get to revenge the death (which is kind of mature theme). But it seems unlikely to happen though, oh well.
Anyway, I still have high hopes for this game. If they don't have portrait, at least they must offer something good to make up for it.
interesting that they share the same body. i wonder how they will work out the plot...i personally like the non portraits as a change of pace during speach.
edit: i agree....the sea monsters look wierd...maybe its just the angle?
I'm very excited. I love the concept and the game play looks different from RFF. There were a few things about the RFF combat system that annoyed me slightly.
Also, not a runney in sight!
I don't care about the fact that I can play my own gender in this game. XD

Actually I like the 3D portraits they're using. I wasn't too crazy about the portraits in RFF-- I mean some of them were pretty, but some of the characters looked bug-eyed (Raguna... lookin at you..) and it was a little distracting. And they were all frozen in one pose and only changed their facial expression, which was also a bummer (seriously, it's pretty lazy for a commercial game).
The 3D models' faces are so much more proportionate; I'm glad we can get a better look at them in this game. There will probably be a wider range of expression sets this time as well. What is there to lose?
(honestly if I had to complain about something, « What The Eggplant » is that thing on Sonia's head? xD It's not a hat or a hairband... it's just sitting there... but it's not gonna bug me that much because finally we have a female protag, and I think the 2 protagonist idea is COOL. Genderbending ftw. It also lets players decide whether they like the bachelors/bachelorettes more instead of picking a gender first and then regretting it later)

Really? Then how do they change? Do they share the same mind or is it more like being replaced by the other without realizing it? This game will be interesting.
