OFFICIAL NintendoDS Multiplayer Section - HELP/Request/Share

Hey guys I've seen a lot of topics about WiFi fields being posted.
I think that to loosen the board a little bit with less topics on this is to make ONE OFFICIAL thread for it. Here is the method I think will work best, and because everyone may have a different harvest date, time, whatever you want to call it just keep replying to this thread when your crops are ready. Here's an example:

Simple yet informative enough. I also want this thread to be a support thread too. Meaning if you need help setting up your WiFi connection or just simple questions about the feature ask here instead of creating a new thread.
Let me know what you guys think. I just want the forum to feel "cleaner" without a new same thread over and over
Also if it will help a lot of people I'll keep this first post updated with everyone's Friend code. Let me know.

[FAQ] - Continuously Updated

Q: I can't connect to WiFi!
A: The DS only implements WEP security so if you have a security set on your wireless connection it needs to be set to WEP. Also the DS uses wireless B to connect to the internet and online play. Most routers will have a "mix" feature which will enable both wireless B/G. If your router does not support a mix feature for bands you need to change it to wireless B when you want to play online.

Q: How do I play online?
A: Firstly you need to have activated the online field. After you have activated the field you must select "Multiplayer" from the main menu screen. From here you can add Friend codes and visit each others' fields. PLEASE NOTE THAT TO BE ABLE TO VISIT SOMEONE'S FIELD THEY MUST ALSO BE ONLINE.

Q: How do I add Friend Codes?
A: 1. After selecting MULTIPLAYER from the main menu screen you are greeted at the WiFi Menu section.
2. Select Friend Roster - From here you can add and delete Friend Codes.

Q: What is the ENTRANCE FEE? And how do I set it?
A: The entrance fee is a set price you put on your field that one has to pay to be able to get access to it. When you HOST your field you are able to set your fee. Remember though, setting it too high will draw away friends from visiting your field.

Q: Will my crops wilt away if I don't water them?
A: The crops being grown on the Multiplayer Field WILL NOT wilt away, but just stay dormant if not watered and will continue growing again when you start watering again. So no penalty and harm is done by forgetting to water.

Q: What season crops can I grow?
A: The crops grown depends on the season of the SUN you have in the SUN location.

Ok, start with me! I am getting error 51301 when I try to connect. I already set my wi-fi modem to accept the MAC for my DS, but it still won't connect. Help?

Sounds to me like your network is not setup for WEP Security... sad as it is Nintendo didn't implament WPA/APA security when using Wifi services for online play.

Make sure your wireless/router is broadcasting with WEP security... though I hate it because WEP offers less security just make sure you select WEP 128-bit vs 64-bit.

I checked it and on the options it is "disable security". There is a WEP option, when I clicked it, it opens some options, they are:
Type (automatic / open system / shared key), WEP key format (Hexadecimal / ASCII) and under it there are WEP Keys, wich are disabled andn I can't change them yet. Could you give me some instructions about what to do here?

Does the person that you're trying to add to your friends list have to be online when you try to add them? Everytime I try to add someone it tells me "Incorrect Friend Code", but I know I am entering the code correctly.

Select Shared Key, for format you can select whatever format you want use this website:

to generate a random key just press the generate 128bit and it'll random generate one on the bottom both ASCII and Hex pick whatever one you want. I personally will go with ASCII

They do need to also have YOUR friend code entered or it won't be recognized as a FRIEND CONNECTION.
I've added friend codes without needing to be online so I would think no they don't need to be online.

ALSO keep in mind IF you change your connection setup your friend code WILL CHANGE!

ok, I did it all, and now it gave me another error... 51101.
Somehow it said it is the WEP key, so I went ahead and put it on my DS. But now, when I tried to connect again, it went back to error 51301... So, in other words, still not working. My brother said he will try to help me out when he is home, so I may keep trying while I wait for him. Thanks for the help till now.

OK! My brother found what was wrong (I misstyped theh DS MAC), so now I am good to go. Anyone with Onions to harvest? I strongly need them ._. I have Daikon and Snowdrops ready to harvest, if anyone have interest.

Awesome! I am currently typing my paper, but hopefully everyone else cant start using this thread! And my GF just took my DS... :\ When she has her own... she probably misplaced hers... great.

When you go to online play there should be a area to select your entrance fee.

I haven't decided which season to make my Wifi field yet. I was thinking of making one for grains (soy beans, buckwheat, etc.) but would like to grow seasonal stuff too... just can't decide which one. Any requests? Any stuff people need often but have a hard time getting?

EDIT: Just remembered you can't grow grains in the wifi farm (d'oh!). But I'm still trying to decide what to grow...

ONIONS! Please! I need them like... now! I am on spring, year 2, and I don't have an onion to complete my salad (my turnips still aren't ready for harvest, and none of my other crops, just have some crops from winter, that I can make a salad, IF I had an onion). So, if I can really request something... onions for me, please... Even if it is just one, I will love you forever
