Harvest Moon A New Beginning home page
World Map
The map of our new Harvest Moon World.
Crops
The money you earn for shipping crops will be affected by your crop brand. If you have won a Harvest Festival then the profit you earn will increase 120%, 150%, or 200% more depending on the rank of your brand.
Stamina Levels
In the upper corner of the screen will be your stamina and health indicator.
A New Beginning does not have Power Berries, Goddess accessories, Magic Water, or any other method to increase your overall stamina level. You can restore your stamina by going to bed, eating food, and so on.
Next to your stamina heart markers is your health indicator. Your health is on a 100 point scale and the face will update depending on how many health points you have.
If you are in perfect health, above 90 health points, using a tool will half the amount of stamina you would typically lose; instead of losing 4 stamina points from milking a cow, you'll only lose 2 (4 x 50% = 2). If you have a green health face, then you will lose the full amount (4 stamina points).
Your 100 stamina points is measured by the number of hearts you have. If you have all 5 hearts at full size, then you have 100 stamina points. Each heart can be at full size and then at a half size before it depletes down to the next heart.
Stormy weather days also have an affect on your stamina. If you use your tools on hurricane or snow storm days, then you will lose an additional 5 stamina per use.
Town Plans
On Summer 1, Dunhill will visit your house in the morning. This is the main story of the game; to complete the plans and make the village happy.
There are five Town Restoration Plans. You can access the current status of your assigned plan by selecting it from the main menu (press the X button).
The Forest Mine, Blueprints and Cooking Recipes
This mine is blocked off at the beginning of the game.
This mine is just a large room with various items on the ground you can pick up.
To mine you hit certain areas of the mine you can find mine items.
ie: Silver, gold, scrap, etc.
Once you unlock this mine you can also find blueprints and cooking recipes.
There are 15 blueprints and 63 recipes you can find at the mining points. (random if you find them or not)
Bees
Besides raising standard livestock and chickens, you can raise honey bees on your farm. You can't buy honey bees from Neil and you need to build their little bee houses.
You will need to collect wild honey bees. There are four types of honey bees you can collect. Higher level honey bees will produce higher level products.
Randome events
Here are random events that you can see around town. So get out there and make some friends.
The Travel agency
Here you can travel to many places. You only start off with one location that you can go to after you build the travel agency.
Here are the locations that you can go to.
The beach
The southern Beach is the first vacation trip you can take. On the land areas you can find critters, wild tropical fruit, coral, and sea shells. You can also find wild Monkeys and Turtles.
The snow country
You can start visiting the Snow Country after you have taken a trip to The Beach and you have reached Summer of your first year or later
Sakura Land
A trip to this peaceful place will cost 50,000 G for your own ticket or 80,000 G if you take your spouse and/or child. You can start visiting this area once you reach Fall of your fist year and you've taken a trip to the Snow Country. It takes 2 hours to travel here and Gardner leaves to return home at 10:00 pm.
You will have to visit Sakura Land often if you want to construct the Master Rod for fishing. After you befriend Kosaburo and receive the blueprint for the Master Rod, you can craft it by combining a Fishing Rod, 5 Bamboo, and 1 Orichalcum from the ore mine.
Visiting Sakura Land is also how you can obtain Strawberry Seed and Wasabi.
Ancient Ruins
The last place you can visit is the Ancient Ruins. It is also the most expensive, as each trip will cost you 120,000 G for yourself.
You can start to visit the ruins after you have visited Sakura Land, Snow Country, and the Beach a total of at least 5 times (not 5 times to each location).
You also need to have 12,000 or more friendship points with Gardner and have reached Winter 1 of your first year.
Warning: If you decide to travel to any of the places, when you head back the day will be over and you wont be able to save so travel wisely. Gardner will take you back home automatically at night if you don't decide to go back earlier.
You can take others with you to the vacation spot, but the cost to travel will increase.
Fish Trapping
You will learn about Fish Traps on Spring 20 when you walk from the village area to the river area. Dunhill will greet you, explain how to trap fish, and give you 5 Fish Traps.
Fishing
Your first Fishing Rod will be given to you by Dunhill starting on Summer 2 of your first year.
There are nine fishing points in the game you can cast your line from.
There are four fish trapping spots in the game. To use a Fish Trap, remove it from your rucksack and place it into the water at one of the trap locations. Then you wait 30 minutes until the trap begins to wiggle. Once you see activity inside the Fish Trap, press the A button to pick up the item that was caught inside. (sounds like a pain to wait for it to me >.>)
Music sheets
Aaron the Harvest Sprite has come to talk to you because you seem to be the only person who can see him. He uses his harvest magic to transport you to the River area to meet with his sister, Alice.
You can't even break the rocks with a hammer! But the sprites' musical tree stumps have a mysterious power. Playing the right melody on the stumps will break the barricades. The sprites ask that you help them locate the magical melodies to open the blocked areas. You will need to look for the tune's music sheet and then play the notes on the colored tree stumps.
Branding
Branding is associated with the profit you earn from twelve categories of items. The higher your brand, the more money you'll earn for shipping goods associated with that brand.
The Twelve brands are:
Crops, Fruit, Misc. Crops, Herbs and Flowers, Cooked Recipes, Honey (not until year 2), Milk, Yak Milk, Eggs, Sheep Wool, Alpaca Wool, and Llama Wool.
Wifi Trading and Animal Field
Using the Nintendo Network system, you can exchange items with up to 4 other players with the game. This doesn't require the exchange of Friend Codes or coordinating games together; you simply connect to the Nintendo Network and off you go!
You can bring up to 5 cows, sheep, alpacas, yaks, or llamas with you, after you have selected your animals, you can select what special item you would like to present to the other players. You can pick an Item such as a crop, flower, milk, and so on, or you can pick a Arranged (crafted) object that you've made using your Workshop.
Wallpaper
There are 24 styles of wallpaper you can use to decorate your farmhouse walls. Before you can place a wallpaper you need to have the blueprint and craft the wallpaper using your workshop.
Flooring
here are 24 styles of flooring you can use to decorate your farmhouse. Changing the floor covering also changes the rugs that are laid out underneath your table and chairs, by the bath and toilet rooms, and the table and sofa set.
Plan Combo's
There are a lot of items you can construct using your farm workshop. Some of these items can be placed out as decorations and will work together to trigger an alternative purpose! The decorations must all be placed in the same area as the object they are influencing.
Special Fragments
Once your construction workshop is activated around Spring 25, you can start buying and finding plans to craft objects, buildings, and decorations. Most of the plans will either be purchased from Rebecca, found when fishing or mining, or gifted to you from villagers.
The pieces are colored and you need to find all three colored pieces in order to read the repaired blueprint. The fragments will be stored in your side table next to the bed inside of your house.

Garden Show
This event is specifically for you to show off your design eye to impress the show judges with the items you've placed in your Gardening Space. If you do a good job with your layout, then you can gain friendship with the villagers and a little bit of money.
Earning Friendship
There are 30 other people who live in the sleepy valley hidden in the mountain (31 if you include your child). Being friendly to the other people will help you with improving your farm. You can receive blueprints and cooking recipes as rewards for taking the time to increase your relationship with the villagers.
Birthdays!!!!
A list of peoples Birth days (duh)
Festival Prizes
Depending on the festival you enter, you'll receive 10 of a certain type of item.
Each year you will have fourteen festivals to participate in that will reward you with a prize if you are the festival winner. You won't receive a prize if you come in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th place.
The Star Rank of the item you received will depend on the class of festival that you entered. A Beginner class will earn you 10 items with 1 Star, Intermediate will be a 2 Star Rank, and Advanced will be 3 Stars.
bachelorette's
Heart Events
Before you can marry your special person, you have several marriage requirements you need to complete. One of these requirements are heart events. Each marriage candidate has four heart events you need to trigger.
Iroha
Heart Events
On the 15th of Spring in your first year, Iroha will arrive in town. She wants to be a master blacksmith and has left her family to travel in search of quality materials.
Iroha is the one who has the blueprints for upgrading your farm tools. You will want to give her gifts to raise her friendship as soon as you can; the faster you can make the high-level tools once you can craft using your workshop.
Tina
Heart Events
Tina will move into the village after you have built the Newspaper Carrier blueprint. You can buy the plan from Rebecca's shop for 2400 G and it is available as soon as Rebecca sets up shop around Spring 25 of your first year.
The journalist has a happy personality and enjoys helping others by finding useful information.
Yuri
Heart Events
The fashion designer! Yuri seems to have a cold, uncaring personality but she is just socially awkward. She doesn't know how to hold a conversation and tends to simply respond in short, to-the-point sentences.
Her heart color indicator is invisible until you give her a Ring to indicate your devotion to her.
House plan is available from Rebecca's Architect shop for 2000 G starting in Fall of year 2, or once you have started Town Renovation Plan #3 and Emma has 20,000 or more Friendship Points.
Witch Princess
Heart Events
You need to be in year 2 or later before you can unlock the Witch Princess.
The princess likes teddy bears and has decorated the inside of her house with the stuffed animals. She lives alone and stays inside most of the time. Witch doesn't even get out of bed until noon.
Witch opens a shop inside her house on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday between 12:00 pm and 5:00 pm where you can change your eye color and facial style. You can't utilize her shop unless you have a Poisonous Mushroom, Blueberry, or Grape-related item in your rucksack, such as Grape Ice Cream or Grape Jam.
Felicity
Heart Events
Felicity moves to Echo Village to help at Camembert's restaurant.
She enjoys helping others and has a cheery personality. Even though she likes to eat food, she admits that she isn't very good at cooking it.
Michelle
Heart Events
Michelle likes the spotlight and is always trying to think of new tricks to wow her audience. She is a big fan of the color pink, obviously, and likes anyone who can appreciate the cheery color.
Bachelor's
Amir's Heart Events

Neil
Neil's Heart Events
He will automatically appear in your game on Spring 9th of your first year, when he visits your farm to deliver a cow that Dunhill got for you. After that, he will move into the red-colored building next to Hanna's General Store.
